Knock off purses available on St.Thomas or St.Martin??

I have a DD dying for a Louis Vuitton purse just like Mom's, but can't see spending the money on "the real deal". Does anyone know if they sell good looking knock-offs (fakes) on either of these islands... and if so, where?

When we were in st. martin in july we stumbled into a store that had them. coach purses too. i don't know the prices, but they were really good fakes (my dd was comparing her real to the fake coaches and i was impressed with them) anyway all i remember is the store was on the same street as the guava berry rum place and it was on the same side too. it had all the touristy stuff it the store but by the register was the purses. there was another place in st. martin that had them too but i don't remember where it was located. i just remember it mostly sold liquor and had a section of purses. didn't see any in st. thomas. good luck!!

When my hubby and I cruised Carnival (GASP!) in Nov of 2002 we also saw some great fakes in a store on front street in St. Maarten (Dutch side). I actually purchased a fake Prada that I get complements all the time on it. I saved almost everything from the trip and will look to see if I can find the receipt. The store's description from the previous post sounds like the one I was in.

I dunno about knock offs but in St Thomas there is a great store called PURSE STRINGS (they make some wonderful eel skin things). They are at 2A1 Roayl Dane Mall

The were many "knock off" purse stores in St. Thomas.........they even had that "coach" store I was looking for!!

While in St. Thomas....they had these little tents set up...they had all kinds of bags....Coach, Prada, Burberry, ect....all looked like the real thing....my mom and my GF got a few prada bags. We were thinking its to good to be true...so we came home and looked on neiman marcus.com and the exact same bags were on there and the total of 3000.00!!!!!!!!!!! our total was 120!! Even if they were fake.....who can tell...even the Prada tag is the same....hahahahahahah we love good deals.. They can't wait until this september until our next cruise.

Hmmm Im not sure exactly......Its at the beginning of town where the taxi's leave you off to go shopping in town. You will see lots of little tents with t-shirts, jewerly, ect.....its pretty easy to find!

They really will go low on the prices if you know how to do some good bargaining...lol

Right where the taxi let us off were the tents. But in "the mall area" by the hardrock cafe was a leather store and down the hall was a "purse place".

Theres a radio guy down here named Todd Schnitt , who I listen to occasionally on the ride home from work - he did a story about knockoff purses, and "purse parties" that women have - apparently, the proceeds of the sale of some of these knockoffs fund Al Queda!!!!!!!

Here is a funny "Kate Spade" purse story.

DH and I were in NYC Oct 2002. I really wanted a "Kate Spade" purse. I purchased one from a vendor (a man who had purses laid out on a blanket on the ground so he could make a quick getaway if the NYPD showed up!!). Anyway, we were walking around the city and took my purse off my shoulder to pay for some of those delicious roasted nuts and low and behold my purse was no longer a "Kate Spade". The metal tag had only been glued on and it fell off the purse from rubbing under my arm!! Dh couldn't stop laughing and said it served me right, lesson learned.
