I heard a rummor that we were not allowed to have our pocket knives. My knife is my best friend I have carried one my whole life and I will go crazy with out one. Does anyone have any information on this. :confused3

Yea, hide that knife. Bring the best friend. jk but I dont know what the rules are with em. I had a couple down there, I just hid mine. Better not to risk anything I guess

bring it.. i mean, they're not going to pat us down everytime we go in and out of the apartment. I wouldn't take it to work though.. and during inspections, i would keep it hidden. There are cooking knives.. what's the difference?

Actually, you are not supposed to have it...and they have taken sharp knives out of the kitchens almost completely. My friend in Vista has a cooking knife block she's had for years and the inspectors tried to take it away from her. She fought it, and they only let her keep it because she had 2 weeks left. But, I say bring it. The inspectors don't really spend a lot of time in your apartment, so just hide it for inspections. They CAN look through your things, but they don't usually do this (I don't know of it ever happening without a drug or alcohol issue involved). You will have a locker in your closet, but they are allowed to go through that, too, if they want. But they don't. Unless they have a reason to.

Don't take it to work...SO not allowed, but carry it otherwise as long as it isn't hanging from your belt or anything.

Sounds good thanks everyone for your help. Looks like I will just have to bring my little one not the one hangs on my belt and the one that hangs on the pocket of my jeans. But again thanks to ya'll for your help.

Really what about knives that you bring yourself for the kitchen? Or do you mean that the rooms dont have sharp knives to begin with?

Both. They are not supposed to still have any sharp knives in the kitchens anymore...and you aren't supposed to bring any either. I don't know how strict they are though, because the inspection team saw a big set of knives in my apartment the other day that I bought for my new apartment.

But they are very random...some people get in trouble for things that other people wouldn't get in trouble for.

I wouldn't bring it. I had 3 of my roommates fired because they bought decorative swords at Epcot. The blades were not sharp at ALL. They only had a point tip. A gay roommate ratted out one of the other roommates(who was less than gay friendly) and all 3 got fired. They tried to fire everyone except the one who narked, but only the swords owners got fired. All someone has to do is mention you have a weapon, they then do a surpris inspection, see it, and give you 24 hour to get off of disney property.

You CANNOT carry that knife at work for sure or anywhere on Disney Property for that matter. They will term you for that.

I know of a situation where a CM was termed for a weapon in his/her car.

Yeah. Basically Price Management is a lower form of mall security, which are just wanna be cops. I'm sure in the PM break room they brag about getting another cast member fired or so.
