Knives on Eurostar!!!

Sorry about the scary title!!

The answer is probably.... "No, don't be so stupid" but I thought I would ask anyway.

Am hoping to take plenty of fruit in our suitcases for healthy snacks but my children wont eat things with skins on and prefer their fruit chopped up.

Would I be allowed a small fruit peeling knife on Eurostar and in the parks, safely wrapped obviously or will I end up being escorted tot he nearest police station!!

The official wording for knives that you can not carry is as follows:

Flick knives/gravity knives, lock knives and daggers, .any knives with a blade over 3 inches/75mm in length (Note – standard folding knives with a blade no greater than 3 inches/75mm long are permitted to be carried).

So - if the knife you plan to take i not covered by the above ruling then you should be allowed to take it with you.

I personally wouldn't risk it.

I don't know how long you're going for but I'd just take dried fruit like raisins or fruit that can either be peeled by hand ie. bananas and easy peel oranges or that doesn't need peeling at all like grapes.

Alternatively take the RER to Auchan at Val d'Europe, only one stop, where you could buy fresh fruit, sandwich bags and a peeler so you could prepare it in your room. You could then bin the peeler before you came home.

Maybe I'm being a bit paranoid but I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around with a fruit knife or peeler in my bag at the parks, not travelling on the Eurostar.
