Arts and Crafts knit Belle dress pattern rec's?

Hi!
This is my first time posting in this part of the forum.

We are surprising my now 8yo daughter with a trip to WDW for her birthday in May.
I would like to make a Belle dress for her out of t-shirt fabric.

Has anyone tried something like this? Can you recommend a pattern?

I found a tutorial online but I have made that shirt before and I hated the pattern.
I want to use a pattern I can buy from JoAnn's and cut out.

I'm not the best one to ask as I can not sew a straight line but I did find maybe 2 options...

Or could you maybe adjust the pattern for Dorothy's dress pattern from Wizard of Oz?

Ok, thanks for that link. Lots of great ideas there!

I found a yellow skater style dress and think I might try to modify it. It's more than I want to spend but after buying fabric and a pattern and thinking of how much time it will take me, $28 isn't seeming too bad. Plus I've got plenty of time to wait for it to maybe go on sale.
I've been checking ebay as well.
