Kitty question #2- Does your cat do any "tricks"?

It's called "Follow the sun spot". They lie down in a patch of sun and when the sun moves, they get up and lie down where the sun spot moved to. They make good paper weights, blanket weights, foot weights, tile weights, heck, anything weights. In case you haved guessed, my feline crew is very lazy.

Does anyone else's cat love hair bands? I am constantly finding my hair bands all over. Trouble the Cat loves to play with them and carry them around the house!

YES!! I am always finding hair bands everywhere - and Charlie will put a paw on it and pull the other end with his mouth until it snaps one way or another. Sometimes hurting his mouth - silly cat!!

Littlefoot will also steal socks and run around with them in her mouth - then put them on the floor in front of her and cry... if anyone can help me understand that - I would be very grateful.

Moozer (the girly girl) chirps after each sneeze I make but does not fall for the fake ones. She also comes when we call for her and DEMANDS things from my DH and hates him at the same time she loves him.

She also has taken to drinking out of a glass of ice water and gives herself Kitty Brain Freeze...

BeBe is her brother. Both are 13 1/2 yrs old. He figured out that if she gets treats, he does not have to get up as we bring them to him...Smart
Bebe talks and tells us stories (even if we don't understand them) and he gives kisses if he want to get petted. He also come to bed with me each night. He is the one who knows when I am down and follows me everywhere to comfort me.

My cat will fetch too. She brings me all sorts of things to throw. Her mouse, a pen, Q-tips, a straw. I occassionally wake up in the middle of the night with a mouse getting dropped on my face as she's ready to play. It's pretty cute, but not at 2:00 in the morning. My Dh's cat can climb curtains and screens and can stay there for a long time. I've come home and he was stuck on the curtain and a chain beside the door. Just hangin' out up there. Swingin' away. I don't know how long he was up there for.

We have two cats that can play fetch.

They will fetch pretty much anything you throw under the size of a tennis ball. Toy mice, twist ties from bread and they love those little plastic things that you take off of the milk to open the top. Just throw it and they will bring it back in their mouth and drop it in front of you. My older kitty, if he drops it too far from my reach, I will hold out my hand and he will pick it up and put it in my hand.

Our younger cat will fetch too, but won't put it in my hand.

Funny thing, around Halloween, the cats got a hold of a bag of plastic spider rings and the were walking around the house with these big old black plastic spiders in their mouths.

I thought my cat, Linus, was the only one who fetched! My dad thinks it's just great, and whenever he visits spends about an hour playing fetch with the cat. Needless to say, Linus loves grandpa's visits!

That's Beatrice's favorite trick! She does play with her little toy, but really she's a lazy bum. We call her "Lazy Bea" because as soon as we get out of bed in the morning, she snags one of the warm spots we've left behind and curls up in it. She won't move even when I make the bed, so we always end up with a large lump under the covers where she's sleeping. She will not move from that spot unless disturbed, and most of the time if she's disturbed she just finds a new spot to sleep.

Buying the new scratching post with the funny toy turned out to be a good thing for Beatrice's waistline - she's gotten a little more active since we got it. Once she destroys the toy, I don't know what she'll do if I can't find a replacement. She may resort to her famous snacking and napping ways! The only other tricks she ever did were "chase your sister (Rosalind) around the house at 2:00 AM", "shred the toilet paper at 4:00 AM"; "rattle the mini blinds at 5:00 AM" and "paw at the shower curtain at 5:30 AM".

Whoever mentioned the bathroom - I am there with you. Trouble won't let me go to the bathroom alone. If I manage to shut the door before she gets in, she sits at the door and meows. I guess this is training for parenthood with human children.

My kitten waits outside of the bathroom for us. Both of my cats scratch on the bathroom door to get in when DH is showering in the morning. They don't do it for anyone else, though, even if we're in that same shower. I think it's because he's the first one up in the morning and everyone else is sleeping so they want company. Our kitten wakes us up at 5:30 every single morning. She comes in and starts licking DH and I on the face.

My kitten plays fetch with these and we find them all over the house. When we get up on the weekends they are all over the bed because she wants to play but we are sleeping in.

If we say to our kitten "Cali, come give me a kiss" she will hop up and lick us on the nose. She doesn't like to sit still unless I'm sitting on the couch with the laptop. She will lay curled up in the crook of my arm just staring at the PC screen.

My 3 year old siamese, Sebastian, used to play fetch until we adopted our tortie kitten, Chloe, a year and a half ago. He would bring toys to me and drop it in my lap so that I could throw it away for him to catch. Then he'd go get it and bring it back. It got pretty annoying after a while! Now that he has another kitty to play with, though, he doesn't ever do that anymore.

My old cat, Sydney, who had to be put down about 3 years ago ( ), would close doors on occasion when I had friends over and we were being too loud. It was pretty funny-- he'd just walk into the bedroom and close the door behind him. I guess he didn't realize he was going to be stuck there until I could be bothered to get up and let him out.

Both my current cats, Chloe and Sebastian, can open the cabinet where we keep the cat food. It annoys me to no end when I find them wandering around in there!

Our cats are the trainers in our home. Silver has dd4 trained; Silver will puurrrrr under dd4s neck which will make her giggle. In order to get Silver to stop purring, dd4 will rub her. If dd4 stops rubbing, Silver starts purring again. While dd4 is sleeping, Silver will burrow under dd4's arm or if dd4's arm isn't in the right spot, Silver will wrap her paws around it and pull it where desired.

Brownie has Silver trained. When Brownie wants to know where Silver is, she'll let out a loud meow and Silver will come running.

Brownie, knows when it's time for me to do certain chores and will run to my spot at the correct time of day.
