I cooked bacon to go with lunch and there was one piece left on the counter after I cooked it. I went back to get it a few minutes later and it is gone! The only ones here are me and the 2 kittens. At least one of them now has bacon breath! My biggest concern is actually that they tend to grab the food and take it off somewhere to eat and then abandon it after a few bites. I really don't want to find fossilized bacon in a few months!

These kittens are worse than having toddlers! I can't leave anything out on the counters. They chew through all the bread in the pantry if we forget to close the door. They wake us up all night long wanting to play and if we shut the doors they just scratch up the wood and claw at the carpet trying to get in. Every roll of TP in the house has been clawed and chewed. And I can't go to the bathroom by myself because the toilet fascinates them and they have to be there to watch it swirling. They jump up on the tables and counters and look for things to bat around and swat onto the floor.

And I wouldn't trade it for the world! They really have made things much easier after our old cat passed and bring so much love and fun to every day. DD calls it "fuzz therapy". Everyone should have at least 2 kittens!:cat::cat:

:) That is too cute..

I agree. I love kitties. Mine is still 9 months, and does all of those things. I would not trade it. She is too adorable. As is my older cat

It is indeed when you find the food they abandoned :scared1:

Bacon is also a big thing to my cats :lmao:

I have a very bad kitty. She has been smacked off the counters enough to know she should stay off, but the food is just too tempting for her. We either have to put stuff in the microwave, cover the pots or close the kitchen door. She helps herself to anything and everything. The dog chases behind her to sniff her breath to see if she got something he did not. We have noticed she does the same to him if he acts like he has just gotten something good.

Funniest (although bad) moment was when we cooked cheeseburgers on the grill. We forgot to put the burgers in the fridge. Much later, I walked in the kitchen and noticed she has been on the counter. One burger only had the cheese picked off and the hamburger that was purposely left with no cheese had the top layer of meat chewed off. It looked like a rat had been near the plate. No, she couldn't just eat some of the meat off the burger she ate the cheese from.

That is so cute. Bacon breathe. I have three cats of my own. Missy my youngest one thinks she is a dog. She begs like a dog, steals food like a dog, raids the garbage pail if there is chicken bones in it like a dog, will greet me at the door, comes to me when she is called. Get the picture? :laughing:She does everything but bark.

:goodvibesYour kittens are adorable and the bacon story is classic and precious! I haven't had a cat for a long time now and I miss her cuteness and all her antics!
I do have my own "kitty" now who wreaks havoc and steals bacon...and bread...and everything else left on the counters...DS14 makes everything disappear in stealth mode...:)
Please pass on more "fuzz therapy"~:flower3:

I cook bacon (several lbs. at a time) and then freeze it in ziplocs so all I have to do is take a couple of pieces out to use for a sandwich or with eggs and zap it for a few seconds. Well Merlin and Meatball ....both will be a year old this year know the sound of that ziploc coming out of the freezer! I don't care where they are in the house they know that sound. It is now a routine that when I come home from work they sit in front of the freezer door (bottom freezer) and wait they feel that they are "entitled" to some bacon after I left them alone for 12 hours! These 2 cats are the only ones out of 6 that love bacon more than life itself! It's easy to break into little pieces when it is still frozen and each one eats it fast so they can steal some from the other one! Meatball is a garbage disposal anyways! He even LOVES peanut butter......without cats in my home it would be one boring place and yours sounds about the same!
The TP issue, I finally had to take it off the roll and put it on the shower bar, after a few weeks they will forget about it and you can put it back!

I have a 5 year old and 6 year old kitty. I swear there horible. Bosco cant seem to get that he CANT go out on the patio without a leash. They also cant seem to get that the table is not for them. I also have a bread eater. I love when they sit in front of the window and then DIVE into it like they can really get the birds.

I have a freind who lives out in the county and feeds the chipmunks. They know she feeds them around 9 am. Well she forgot the one day and the chipmunk climbed up on her outside window box and chirped at her. Her cat buster proceded to jump up and stare at the chipmunk. It was so cute when the cat and chipmunk started trying to go paw to paw and get each other.
