My dog gets eye allergies so we are on our way to the vet in an hour, Visine AC usually works but this year i didn't get to it in time and needed to use antibiotic drops for him. I think he should be seen anyway even though I am sure he's fine.

I also made an appointment for our kitty cat because I am worried something is going on with his old heart. Twice he woke up up making a weird noise, the first time I thought it was as fur ball but the second time I'm not so sure, when he rests I think I can see his heart taking great big beats. We have had this cat for 18 years, got him the month before we were married & took him in as a stray. He's a good kitty but age is creeping in, I've been avoiding a visit because I don't want bad news but now I'm worried he might be in pain and I can't have that.

I am dreading this visit :sad2: I don't want to lose any more of my old fluffy friends.... but 18 is old.

Hugs love, my big ol' guy is 15 and starting to show his age. I try to spend more time loving him up and snuggling. I know it's inevitable so I'm trying to give and get as much kitty love as I can.

He makes the weirdest noises, he snores, wheezes, whistles...he's amusing to listen to when he's sleeping. Always has been a noisy sleeper, lol.

I love those noises too.

Unfortunately, I think this noise is something else new, not a normal kitty noise... bracing myself.

I have a very noisy sleeper, too. She likes to sleep in the middle room of the house, and the way the house is built, the noise travels EVERYWHERE. I cannot begin to tell you how many times we've muted the tv to figure out that the weird noise we're hearing is my cat snoring. :rotfl:

We've had her and another one (who is a much quieter sleeper, but very talkative when she's awake) for a few years now. The noisy sleeper was a pound kitty and they don't know how old she is. Every year she gets a few more white hairs, though. :( They're my first kitties so I don't know how I'll handle it when it gets near the end. :(

I hope things go well for the kitty.

I know those appts are never fun and the worry isnt either. You are a wonderful person for taking in a stray. Sending happy thoughts your way. My oldest has diabetes we are giving him insulin once a day, he isn't a fan of the needles (neither am I) but he takes them like a champ. I wish you and your kitty all the best! :)

Maybe kitty is sufferin' from a li'l allergies/sinus trouble too.

Good vibes sent to him 'n you.

I hope everything goes ok with your cat. Our cat will be 18 next month and we got her as a 6 week old kitten a few months before we got married. She is pretty healthy, although she's lost a lot of weight. She's very senile now and can't remember to use her litter box half the time, so that's our biggest problem. It's so hard to have an aging pet, knowing that they don't have much time left. I'm the same way about bringing her to the vet, just don't want them to tell me all the things that are wrong with her.

The Vet didn't detect anything scary so YAY! Everybody is fine!

I needed to shower and use Visine AC because the shedding kicked my pet allergies into overdrive AND my cat & dog are both giving me the cold shoulder :snooty::snooty: but I got good news so it's all good. :yay:

Thank you all for the kind words, I know someday bad news will come but not today.... soooooooo relieved.

Glad to hear it's all okay. :goodvibes

One of my cats is 19 years old. That is probably like 190 in human years. He's on his last leg, he looks like Smeagel out of the Lord of the Rings. I call him Smeagel, but he was really my DW's cat and she named him Spunky, but when they moved in, I started calling him Smeagel because he looks exactly like him.

Awww poor Smeagel the cat.... to suffer such indignities at the hands of a mere human:snooty:

;)

According to this chart your cat is 92!

My cat is going on 16 this year and is 80 in human years. No wonder the poor thing walks around like an old lady, she is.
