Kitten Chewing?

OMG, this kitten is chewing everything today! He has managed to ruin my sneakers, my shower curtain, the book I was reading, and has gone room to room (in just the last hour) chewing every piece of paper he can get his hands on, not to mention emptying out the bathroom trash to get at the dirty tissue Is this a dog in disguise? What to do?

He's teething. You might want to get some chewable cat toys and teach him those are the only things okay to chew on.

Also purposely wad up some paper and toss for the cat. He will get to bat it around and then chew on it. It's more or less harmless to eat paper. It's mostly fiber pulp. But, he will also see there's a difference in flat paper he's not supposed to chew vs. the wadded up little balls he can play with.

My cat also loves to chew on plastic shopping bags. A lot of cats do. But, you have to watch and make sure he's only teething on them and not injesting them, which is dangerous.

Our kitten, Minnie, is teething also. She took one of my son's stuffed animals as a chew toy. We thought it was funny that she chose Lady (from Lady and the Tramp) as her own toy! She also loves paper so we have to watch out.

Make sure you hide all the electrical cords, especially the power cord to the laptop. Not only will it zap Kitty , those are really expensive to replace.

I was coming in to say that!! Mine destroyed my cell cord, has chewed a speaker cord, and who knows what else. Cords are her main vice-paper is second. She will destroy a piece of paper left out.

How would I hide all the electrical cords? Luckily this doesn't seem interesting to him (just yet). This morning he is biting, biting, biting, and I'm doing my best to be patient but gotta say I can't wait to leave the house I am using a squirt gun to keep him off the kitchen table and counters and that has seemed to work just fine but how to get him to stop biting? We were screeching every time he bit us but that doesn't seem to deter him anymore. What to do? BTW, I know he is being playful

my kitty had frozen baby teethers when he was teething. It helped. Cords can be hidden with long plastic tubes that you cut a line down (so that you can stuff the cord in. Bitter apple spray also helps.

Maybe for awhile keep the kitten in the bathroom or a room with chew toys to break them in.

My kitten is teething too and I can't wait till it's over.

She's chewed thru 2 Xbox Live headsets. Hubby thought she was sleeping on his lap. When she chewed the first, he didn't realize what happened, so he grabbed the other one. After that too stopped working, he decided to investigate.

What I HATE however is, this kitten is a little cuddler (which we love), but when she wakes up, she likes to take a chomp at your chin and your nose. That's not such a great way to wake up.

Our cat (who is about 3) loves to chew Capri Sun drink pouches. We have to make sure we don't leave half empty ones sitting around.

When my now 15 year old cat was a kitten he chewed through the light cords on our Christmas tree the night we put it up after we went to sleep. The wall switch was turned off so he didn't get zapped. We had to take down all the decorations and redo the whole tree. We just got a new kitten last month and I will definitely be taking precautions once the tree is up this year!
