My nephew goes kite surfing all over the world. It sounds very scary to me but then I am a big chicken.

Here in Texas they had a blurb about banning kite surfing in some areas.

Have fun! I won't even go tubing, I am such a chicken.

A coworker of mine and his wife do this. He did a demonstration a couple weeks ago -- but there was only enough wind to put the kite up a few times and he wasn't able to use the board. It is pretty amazing how large the kite actually is up close. He had quite a crowd of us ladies watching him .

I have seen kiteboarding and it was pretty fun to watch - a little different than just seeing boats and jet-skis.
