Kitchen Sink question

When we go to Disney in October, we're hoping to do our last meal at Beach's and Cream. We'd like to order the kitchen sink.......I know you can make substitutions, but here's my question. What that is included in the sink has nuts in it? Dh is VERY allergic, and I don't want to miss my flight because we're at the emergency room! Thanks.

We do not have nut allergies in my family, but we do have 2 members of our family with a serious gluten allergy. I called B&C ahead of time and asked if they could do substitutions, or just omit things, they said yes. We have since had the Kitchen Sink twice...both times the chef came out to talk to us. He omitted all of the candy and cookies and cake that had gluten in them, and he loaded on some extra sauces and whipped cream...we never had a reaction (besides happiness and extreme fullness!) I do believe that there is peanut butter in the original version. I would imagine that if he could omit the gluten for us, he could omit the peanuts for you!

Have fun...I hope you get it! Take lots of pix!

Thanks so much.....DH can actually eat peanuts/peanut butter, he is just allergic to tree nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc). It's good to know that they were so willing to work with you. Don't worry, watch for my trip report.....there will be lots of pics :) .

Wow.....we've never had anyone actually ask us at a restaurant. In fact, there have been times when we've asked and they've assured us that there aren't any nuts, and then it turns out that there are! DH forgets to mention it sometimes, but I guess that's what he keeps me around for ;) .

Let's see if I remember...

8 scoops of ice cream--2 vanilla, 2 chocolate, 2 strawberry, 1 mint, 1 coffee
Peanut butter
Fudge
Marshmellow
Strawberries
Banana
Almonds
Peanuts (maybe?)
Brownie (no nuts in brownie)
Cake
Oreo-type cookie
Whipped Cream
Cherries

We get ours with an extra scoop of coffee, no mint, no nuts of any kind but yes peanut butter (and that's pretty much exactly how I order it.)

We've been to Beaches and Cream twice and have not had the Kitchen Sink. We are going in September with a party of 7 (staying at the BCV) and cannot wait to try this wonderful dessert. Disney has a very good history of dealing with food allergies. I have recently lost 80 lbs. on a modified South Beach-type diet. My doctor allows me two "free" meals each month. I absolutely love ice cream and it has been tough to do without it for close to 9 months. I will break my diet for the Kitchen Sink.

We've gotten the No Way Jose Sundae made in the kitchen sink "bowl" before...... That's the best!! :-)

You might want to rethink B&C as a last "meal". From what I understand the you couldn't have both a meal and the KS w/o bursting. So maybe eat a few hours before and then attack a KS.

OMG. Heaven on earth, are you kidding me???? That is just gorgeous to think about. All that beautiful peanut butter sauce.:cool1:

We did the kitchen sink and ordered it how we liked it, finished the whole darn thing with our two teenage boys lovin every minute of it. They give you a huge spoon to dole it out into individual bowls. Oh, and we made it our dinner, nothing else!!:goodvibes

What is the No Way Hose? I haven't heard of that one?

The No Way Jose is a huge sundae at B&C with peanut butter, hot fudge, peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, and whipped cream. You choose 3 scoops of ice cream for it.

The more I keep reading about this, the more I think this will be dinner before we see Cirque

Anyone know how much the kitchen sink runs? :rotfl: No pun intended! Truly a question....
