Kitchen Sink for 2?

I was just wondering... I am a huge ice cream fan. And a pretty big fella, too. I am dieting and starving myself before the trip, but since I'll be walking all week... my fiancee and I are thinking about trying a Kitchen Sink.

Think we can handle it? Or will it just be too frustrating for 2?

When we were there in Dec we saw 4 people share one at the next table and there was plenty for all. It's pretty huge!

When DH and I were there last year, we wondered about this too. Could we do it justice? You know what we finally decided-"Go for it! Where else can you have dinner for under $25 for 2, and have so much fun in the process." They blink the lights, everyone claps, it's fun! Then while we were trying to eat it, everyone kept looking over and several people said stuff like "Wow, how is it?""That looks good!" We ate just the ice cream, left all the other stuff, and were surprised what a good amount of it we ate (I took an "after" picture but I'm not computer-literate enough to figure out how to mail it). I've since learned here on these boards about a couple who ate the ice cream and took the cake, brownies, etc. back to their room (assuming they have a refrigerator) to have as snacks another time. We'll definitely do it again. Go for it!

Geez. A friend of ours said it served 12... I was like WHA?!?!

I figured it was more "family" sized, meaning 2 adults and 2 kids could enjoy it as a dessert. We are thinking abotu having it as a mid day "meal"

Well, I'm looking forward to it.
I just did one HECK of a bowflex workout tonight in anticipation!

If you and your SO other can finish it off I want to shake your hand!! Big guy or no it is massive.... besides the icecream there is a lot of cake, brownies, candy bars etc on there plus all the toppings and an entire can of whipped cream. 2 summers ago my friend and I plopped one down in front of 4 ravenous teenagers (and we are talking 4 kids that could put a hoard of locusts in a wheat field to shame)...and they couldn't finish it all....but they gave it their best shot!!

It is sooo fun (if you don't mind everyone in the place staring while you eat!!) and like the previous poster said....where else could you get such a fun meal for 2 for under $25? (or in our case....for 4). Just don't count on licking the sink!! Also I don't think I would want to take the cake, etc off for later because it is buried under all the toppings, IC, whipped cream etc and I thik they would be pretty soggy to haul off for later,

Our family of 4 (DH, me and two kids who were 9 at the time), couldn't finish it. We had it for lunch (didn't eat breakfast).

But you know what, it was so much fun, I didn't care that we left any (and we didn't leave a lot, a family of 4 with older kids who hadn't eaten since dinner the night before probably would have finished it).

There other desserts are huge too. My mom ans sister shared something that had brownies, ice cream, oreos and whipped cream and it was HUGE. They couldn't finish it. I think it was 7.99. I think that's more realistic for 2 people. We had some other great desserts too, but theres was really big. They served it in a huge wine glass, so it's presentation was nice as well.

People are posting pictures of their Kitchen Sinks! Maybe that will help you see if it is too big (but remember, it is alright to leave some behind ).

DH & I could barely finish the banana split we shared at B&C (but we also had burgers, first). I would be surprised if you could finish it, but you'd have fun trying!

DH and I tried this on our last trip - we did pretty well and he wants to try again on our next trip (although my waistline is not so sure) We picked off all of the non-ice cream stuff (didn't eat that), and between us managed to finish all of the ice cream We had it as a late lunch, and had only had a very light breakfast very early that morning. Have fun!!

DS and I had it for lunch one day. We had them hold the whipped cream and give us a take out container. We took the candy and brownies out immediately. We made a good dent in it by eating slowly and talking. It was just great fun and entertaining. Not sure I would do it again though! They did package the remaining ice cream for us in styrofoam cups which we put in the fridge (YC) and drank for milkshakes in the a.m.!

I was thinking about having a burger beforehand. Is that a bad idea if I'm going to try the kitchen sink? I'm going to split it with my fiance and her 4 year old son.

You may want to split the burger meal with your fiance too to leave room. I doubt is the 4 year old will be able to eat too much of it, so there will be a lot to eat.

Our family of 4 made a 'meal' on it at lunch (11:00 in the morning) because we wanted to try to finish it. I think we could do it now that my twins are 11, but when they were 9 they whimped out too soon and DH and I just couldn't pick up their slack. But we are ready for next time!
