I'm going to be starting a major kitchen remodel in a few weeks. I'm down to needing to pick out a kitchen faucet. (For some reason this has been a more difficult job than picking out the cabinets. :confused3) I've been looking in stores and online, and I see lots that I like the looks of, but I don't know what's the best quality-wise. I checked consumer reports but couldn't find any info on faucets. So help me out... What brand faucets have you had good luck with? And what would you never purchase again?

TIA!

My parents' friend is a home remodeler, and he swears by Delta. We've had good customer service when we needed a part from them.

We have all Kohler in our home. The fixtures are 18 years old and all still work great.

I'm really happy with our Moen in the kitchen, it's held up nicely.

Moen -- in my bath and kitchen. Rec'd by our plumber (a friend) and they offer great customer service if you need parts. He also rec. Delta.

I bought mine on www.faucetsdirect.com -- plumbing grade (what your plumber would buy at a pumbling supply showroom), not consumer grade like what you'd get at a big box store.

I think the brand does not matter sometimes as much as where you get it from. We are redoing our bathroom and I learned about the fixtures there you can get a kohler faucet from a dealer or from a big box store - like lowes/home depot and it is not the same faucet. You can tell because the model # will have one letter or number different. This means it is the same style but may have different parts inside that are plastic - the reason one kohler faucet may be excellent and the second more like outlet quality. The big advice I can give, don't buy your faucet from the big box stores.

Go to Garden Web's That Home Site web site - there are forums on plumbing & kitchen remodeling. TONS of great advice. Be forewarned - the finished kitchen remodel pics will make your head spin!

I am a huge fan of Rohl, because of their unique designs and the quality is wonderful; but, they are not budget. I recently finished a kitchen remodel and purchased a Rohl single lever faucet with a side sprayer and I LOVE it. I also like Kohler, and have their fixtures in my recent bath remodel. I purchased all of my fixtures at an online discount store.

Thanks for all the info, everyone! I'm glad to know there is a difference depending on where you buy it. I had a friend at work recommend faucetsdirect.com, but I didn't know that buying a faucet from there could be higher quality than picking one up at Lowes.

I've had good luck with Delta before, but I haven't found a Delta that I like the looks of as much as some of the other brands. I've used Moen bathroom faucets and liked them, but my mom swears she'll never buy another Moen kitchen faucet because of some problems she had.

I'll check out the Garden Web site. I think I was looking at some pictures there when I was trying to decide on my backsplash. Although, the last thing I need is for my head to spin anymore than it already is! Wayyyyy to many decisions to make with this remodel.

We bought a Price Pfister from faucet discounters on ebay. I did a little checking before I bought from them and I read that they are Price Pfister. I don't know if it's true though.
We've been really happy with the product and LOVED the price. Here's our faucet on amazon for $400 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ZHAPZI and we paid less than $115 w/shipping.
