It's that time of year, we just finished Thanksgiving and Christmas is upon us. Time to see all those relatives we only see once or twice a year. Aunts and cousins, great uncles and grand parents. I love them all to death, but my husband comes from a very Kissy family. Totally opposite of the way I grew up. Everybody kisses, most on the cheeks, some on the lips. Some nice and some icky! I remember the first time I met his great aunt Carol, she left me with a bright red lipstick print on my cheek that would barely come off even after soap and water. There have been some get togethers when I have 2 or 3 lip prints on my face before it's all over. More lipstick (usually red or fuschia) than I would ever wear in a year, lol.
Does anyone else have "kissy" relatives? Are you a kisser or kissee? Ever get lipsticked?

I'm ok with the hugging now but I try to avoid the kissing.
Thanks for bringing back those horrific memories
. My ex-fiance had an uncle who would kiss me several times on the mouth every time I saw him (which we saw him a lot around the holidays). I tried so hard to avoid him and it always made me so uncomfortable (I told my ex this at the time but he didn't want to confront him
). I would always try to turn my head like Ellen does with Cousin Eddie in all of the National Lampoon's movies but I was never successful as he would just grab my head. He was a big, jolly type of guy (loud too). I'm so glad I no longer have to deal with him (or the relationship). Luckily no one in my family is kissy (although I don't even like being hugged by people I only see once or twice a year) or in my bf's family.
