Kissimmee - without a car

Hi everyone

I have been advised that ID or WDW are the best places to stay without a car but someone has suggested to me that Kissimmee (near Old Town) might also be an option. Apparently there are quite a few bars, restaurants there. I have found some hotels that offer free transportation to WDW, Universal and Seaworld and I figure that is all I will need. If anyone has stayed at these hotels I would really appreciate their opinion.

These two do transportation to WDW only but I suppose I could get a taxi to Universal and Seaworld:

holiday inn nikki bird resort

very grateful to anyone who replies.

Awhile back (maybe 3-4 months) there were several posts from people who would be staying at the Amerisuites Calypso Cay and I think I even remember seeing a review or two. Perhaps you can try the search option for some info. We've never stayed at Calypso Cay but have stayed at other Amerisuites locations in Orlando and love the chain. I would definitely warn you AWAY from the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird -- I've read some pretty horrible things about it on this and other boards. Generally the hotels on 192 are a little older but there are a lot of restaurants, shops, etc. within walking distance so it may be a good option for you. Have fun planning!

I will be staying at the Amerisuites Calypso Cay later this month - I will try to remember to bring back stuff from it.
