Can anyone tell me if Kings Island in Ohio has any new rides open this year? Also, any discounts, resorts, etc for this summer?Would love to know if anyone has stayed at the resort that is connected ( in some way) to the park and is it worth the cost to stay there? We've been there several times (yes, I know its not Disney) and the last time it seemed as if there wasn't as many rides as before and made us miss Disney that much more.Any help would be great. Thanks

If you can swing the trip, Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN is better. We've done both w/in the last couple years and won't go back to KI.

I dont think that they have any new rides, but Im sure you can go to their website and see what's there. I always thought though that they had a lot of rides to do in the park and a good mix of them as well.

I do know they have re-themed the kids area and gotten rid of the nickelodean stuff and it's now Camp Snoopy.

We prefer Holiday World though....not as many rides, but a very nice park and the free drinks and parking rock.

There are no new rides in that I know of. I spend most of my time in snoopyland. The rides in Snoopyland are the same, just have different names and characters.
The Son of Beast will not be reopening.
Also, if you went last year and have a refillable Diamondback cup, you can still get it refilled this season for $1.99.
I know that Kings Island has a hotel and Great Wolf Lodge is right next door (you can see it from Drop Zone). We live close and have season passes so I do not know about hotels, sorry. Trust me, I know it is not Dinsey, too.:)
I have never been to Holiday World so I cannot compare.

I heard that they have some kind of new dark ride. It said it was 3-D and shooting targets or something. Sounds interesting.

Its a kids ride. Just re-themed into Snoopy characters. I had a Gold Pass for the last 5 years. Didn't renew this year. Didn't really use it much last year.

We are on the fence about the season passes this year as well. Glad to hear they redid the scooby doo haunted ride.

Diamondback was new last year. It alone is worth a trip, if you love coasters.
If you do not love coasters skip KI.

Great Wolf Lodge is fabulous. The KI resort is OLD, but I have not heard anything about it lately. It has to hav ebeen update to compete at all with GWL. But I would be sad to be there looking out my window at GWL.

They no longer have Nick characters and now have Snoopy stuff. Not sure on new rides as we don't go back there. The resort is actually across from the Great Wolf Lodge there. I also agree that if you can swing it Holiday World is a better option. We don't like KI anywhere near as much as we like Holiday World.

we were just there today...in the cold! I don't think there are any new rides. The snoopy area which people have talked about, and the redo of the haunted thing. I enjoyed it, we bought season tickets. It is Not disney, and it drives me crazy for people to continually point that out. There is no place like Disney, so there is no point to compare. It's a fun amusement park. There are plenty of hotels around, great wolf lodge being the closest. We had fun playing games, and I was surprised at how easy it was to win stuffed animals. For my DS7 it was heaven! LOL We ate at the buffet there, discounted with our season pass. It was Ok...park food. Have fun!

Went to KI Saturday. No new rides this year, everything is just re-themed. I was glad to see that the park is clean and well maintained again. It had been several years since we had been and the park was in sad shape then. Cedar Point has always been spotless so I was hoping when their parent company bought them last year they would take care of KI.

The new dark ride is just a re theme of an old one. The kids said it wasn't as good since the story line didn't make sense without the movie theming.

I wasn't as impressed with the Diamondback. It was fun but way too short. Firehawk on the other hand was amazing! I didn't ride it when it was at Geauga Lake so this was a new one for me.

I am coming to realize that my 30 yo body can't take coasters like it used to!

I must agree the park was cleaner than a few years back.I quit going to the waterparks because it was so dirty maybe I will try it again this year
