Kingdome Keepers

These books are good. Sometimes I said they were amazing.
I love the first one. I didn't overly enjoy the second. He lost me with the third. However, the forth sounds good.
It seems the second started an endless loop:: they get caught, get away, get caught, get away... :headache:
These books are nowhere near the best-written I've ever read. In fact, they're written sort of poorly, in my opinion. I know it's because they're mostly aimed at preteens, but he could definitely do better.
He needs a new editor. :thumbsup2 There are far too many huge mistakes for my taste. At one place in the first one, a closing quotation mark is missing, making you think Finn's saying teh narration. I had to read over it a few times to understand.
He also gets some facts wrong, which just bugs me. The main one I can think of is calling Expedition Everest "Everest Expedition." He also has a different name for Fantasmic in each book.
I know, mos people wouldn't notice. But these are the things that get on my nerves.

All in all, I'd say these books are fun to read, and, unless he completely loses me with the fourth, I'll keep reading them. They're not written well, but if you go in knowing that they're fairly weak at parts, you'll enjoy them. They are fun to read, but I wish they were written better.. and the editing and facts were better. :p

I want to read these so bad!!!! I tried looking for the first book while I was in WDW and had no luck.

My opinion has changed a little in the past few weeks. I've reread the first book, and I can say by far, it's the best book of the three. I think the second is the worst of all of them, it really takes you no where. The third one was very good, I love that the DHI's are playing with the technology and trying to adapt. The books, IMO, are very poorly written. RP needs a better editor, because the one he has, stinks. I've found SO many mistakes in his writing. There's also been a few mistakes with the park layout in his books, but I don't mind that too much, because he's done a lot of research for those books, and it's not an easy thing to do. So, he gets major props for that.

In the end, I think they're great books, definatly will keep you on the end of your seat, and a quick read. The first two are about the same length, but the third is the long one- 500+ pages, I think.

Well the only thing is, I think the park layout is different because, I think he makes up a lot of things. But it is ok he makes them up because, not everything in the book can be just like the parks.

When I read these books, I am on :cloud9:

i know that every time i've gone into the beach club gift shop and the emporium on MS i've sen them. actually i was just at target the other day and they had them all.

i stomach all the little mistakes cause i love readign about disney. if there where other series i may think differently about it, but there arn't. 2 individual books about disney are down and out in the magic kingdom and dream factory. D&O i couldn't get into-to scifi for my taste. and Dream factory portrays disney in a more negative light and u can tell that there was NO disney research done for that book. at one point they where all sitting in the grass in front of the WALT DISNEY statue in front of the TRAIN STATION. a, there is no grass to sit there. b, the roy statue is by the train station, not walt. that's the type of error that bugs me!

I don't think he makes up a lot of stuff (besides the obvious fact the DHI's aren't real) I think he just gets confused when he says "Oh they went here next, which is right next to here" when it's not. Just my opinion

I wanted to start a discussion about the Kingdom Keepers book series. I totally love this series!!! They are awesome. My personal favorites are Philby and Jez. Lets start a discussion!! Oh and by the way there is going to be a 4th book that will take place on a disney cruise ship. The book is being written as we speak.

I am reading the third book right now. i just started it. I love these books! :wizard:

Instead of being on the computer all day, :surfweb:, I love reading these books. Usually I don't like reading but these books are my fav!

Well what I mean is, sometimes to make to story better, you might make up a few things. I am not saying he makes up everything.

+1 for this post.

Throwing out one of many random things that irk me,
The rules for how the kids' bodies react to their DHI activity, the guidelines for appearance and what can and can't cross over with the kids, and many of the DHI rules don't make much sense, or always seem to be changing.
