Hello, I've tried to find this information, but I was wondering if you can travel from Kingdom to Kingdom via bus? For example, can we leave Magic Kingdom and catch a bus out front to MGM Studios? Or from Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom?

Thanks!

Absolutely!. There are buses that run from each park to a different park. There are also boats that run between Epcot and the Studios.

Thank you so much! I wasn't sure, as I know there must be many different ways to get from each Kingdom and I want to make sure we make it as easy as possible.

Well, not exactly. There are no buses that run from the MK resort bus depot to other parks. Any transfers to other parks to or from the MK require a stop at the TTC. From the MK, that means taking the monorail or ferry, then transferring to a bus for MGM or AK, or to the Epcot monorail to go to Epcot (obv). Getting to the MK from other parks just involves the same drill in reverse; bus or monorail to the TTC, then ferry or monorail to the MK.

All of the other parks have buses to and from each other that leave from their main bus depots.

Okay, so when you say "depot" are the buses not just lined-up outside Magic Kingdom? And is the TTC easy to find? 8 newbies in Disney world may be a little overwhelming, we're not big travellers :sad1:

Thanks!

The TTC is directly across the Seven Seas Lagoon from the MK and right next to the Poly.

At the bus depot outside of the MK main gates you only will find buses to the WDW resorts. To get to the TTC, you can take the express monorail, which runs counter clockwise around Seven Seas Lagoon and stops only at the TTC and MK, the resort monorail, which runs clockwise and stops (leaving the MK) at the CR, TTC, Poly, GF and then back to the MK, or the ferry boat, which goes back and forth across the Seven Seas Lagoon between the TTC and MK. Leaving the MK, the monorails are to the right and the ferry dock is to the left.

Once at the TTC, you can change to the Epcot monorail to get to Epcot. If you're on one of the other monorails, this requires going down the ramp from the resort or express platform then following the signs to the Epcot monorail platform. From the ferry dock, you head up toward the parking lot trams and will come to the monorail platforms on your way there. The bus depot where you can catch a bus to AK or MGM is on the parking lot side of the TTC.

At the other parks, buses to the parks pick up and drop off in the same bus depots as the resort buses. (Except for Epcot to MK, which requires a monorail to the TTC, etc.)

There will be signs directing you to and from all of these different areas that should make it clear, and there always are cast members around to ask for directions. So don't worry! You'll do fine!

If you are energetic you could take a bus from MK to any of the EPCOT resorts (S, D, BW, Y&BC) and walk to MGM. Not sure if it will save any time, but it is only about a 15 minute walk from BW. Your time may vary, of course.

Since you describe yourself as a "newbie," let me offer you this tiny piece of friendly advice in communicating with others ...

The 4 WDW theme parks are not each known as "kingdoms." There is Magic Kingdom, and there is Animal Kingdom. In each of those two, "Kingdom" is a part of its proper name, but "kingdom" (lower case 'k') is not an accurate description of the places.

Call them "parks" or "theme parks," but not Kingdoms. As in, "How can I get between the parks?" or "Which Disney theme park is your favorite?"

Lesson over.:teacher: Back to the fun!

Oh ... P.S. ... MGM was recently renamed Disney's Hollywood Studios. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for the help! I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get from Magic Kingdom to Disney's Hollywood Studios (Thanks CleveRocks :thumbsup2) to see Fantasmic. By the way, CleveRocks, I do appreciate the advice you gave and I did take it in the friendly manner in which it was sent. I really am a newbie and we are travelling in 2 weeks with another family (all of us having never been to Disneyworld or the east coast) so every little bit of advice helps :) Thanks again!

From MK to DHS:
Take the monorail or ferry to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). Go to the left towards the large, open bus area and look for the stop for Disney's Hollywod Studios.

If you prefer, you can walk or take the monorail to Contemporary Resort (the first stop on the resort monorail line after MK), and from there catch a bus to DHS.

One thing to remember about that is once the bus leaves the Contemporary it will stop at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian before arriving at Disney's Hollywood Studios. So while it might be faster to walk over to the Contemporary and get the bus from there, you might get to the park faster when getting the bus from the TTC since it does not stop anywhere else once it leaves at the TTC.

One other thing to remember is how friendly all the cast members are and how willing they are to help you figure out how to get where you're going........my point is don't be afraid to ask!

Also, DH and I will be there when you are so if we see a group of people looking lost I'll ask if I can help. ;)

Have a wonderful trip and don't stress. You're bound to make a few boo-boos as confusing as everything is. There's just too much to keep it all straight! Just figure that every boo-boo is just another adventure. LOL
