Has anyone come across and or read the Kingdom Keepers books written by Ridley Pearson? We picked them up on our trip this month based on a recommendation from a lady we met at MK. We bought the first two in MK, and the 3rd one in the gift shop at the airport. I finished the first book, and I'm on the second book now. I've found it interesting reading...anyone else???

I read the first two and really liked them! Thought they were a great read! I am on the waiting list at my library for the 3rd one. Can't wait to read it!! They're fun, especially bc I know all the places and things that they talk about. A few weeks ago we were in AK looking at the tigers and we saw the hatch lid. My dad and I were freaking out saying it was the one we read about in part 2. LOL we were cracking up! :) Enjoy them!

My DS8 read the first two and we're waiting for the library to get the 3rd. I just don't buy hardback books unless they are on sale. They are great and held my DS's interest!:)

I read the first two. They are a fun read for a Disney fan. I am going to get the 3rd one maybe this weekend. I don't like paying for hardbacks either, but I have $5 in Bonus Bucks from Borders and a 33% off coupon so it'll practically come to hardcover price. I hope they keep the series going.

My 9 year old son loves the series! We read the first 2 books and then listened to them again on cds from the library. Even his school had the books! I just bought a signed copy of the new one for him for his birthday in June.
We are looking forward to looking for some of the things in the books when we go to Disney in August. There were some interesting things that will be exciting to see that we easily over looked or just didn't find important when we visited Disney in the past.

My 10 year old son has read the first two books and is working his way through the third that he just received as a birthday present. If you have a child (or even yourself) that loves to know about the back-stage and after-the-park-closes side if WDW they should enjoy these books.

The books can definitely be a challenging read for a 4th grader (like my son is), but the for a child with that has a love for WDW they are a great series to entice a young reader to push through with a challenging read.

As a reward for getting through a book the length of a Kingdom Keepers we will buy the audio book for him. Most nights he will fall asleep listening to the audio book.

This might be the wrong people to ask...

Should I buy them for my library in central Maine?
Would these books be of interest to young people who have not been to WDW, might never get go, might not even know about WDW?

Everyone kept saying how great they were, even for adults, so I ordered the first one.

They're kids' boooks. Not great for adults. They are fine for children, but that's that. IMO.

Yes, they are kids books, but for an adult Disney fan they are a fun read IMHO. Were they great literature? No. But I really enjoyed them. I read ALOT, mostly books for adults, but books from the young adult section make my reading list sometimes too. Harry Potter comes to mind and The Thief Lord, CS Lewis, ect, ect...

Interesting question. When I read Kingdom Keepers, of course I can imagine the whole park and where they are, the characters, the castle, Main Street, ect...and I guess maybe it helps to know a bit of Disney history when reading them, but I've also read books set in England, France, Alaska, ...places I've never been and probably never will go to, but I enjoy them too! It's an adventure story, I think kids would like them whether they had ever been to Disney or not.

I'm 19, and my mom is of course older, and we just went out yesterday and bought the third book. I found the first one in MK a couple of years back, and while I do find the reading to be below my normal level, I still love them. I agree with WaltD4Me, it's a great adventure story, even if you're not Disney obsessed.

Great books. I am reading the second one now. I really enjoy how Ridley Pearson describes WDW. I feel like I am there :) This series is good for children and adults.

I love these books and have just started the 3rd one. They definitely make the time between park visits go faster as I can imagine I am there with the characters in the books. Really fun books! :lovestruc

I'm about half-way through the first book. What are the names of books 2 and 3? I can't wait to read them. I love the first one so far!
