We are thinking about a trip to the World next May (09) and have decided we are probably going to stay at a moderate resort, just not sure which one yet. I know they all have king size bed rooms available, but can you also get a rollaway? DH and I just cannot sleep together in a double and sleeping with DD is getting harder as she is getting bigger (will be 9.5 when we go!) Ideally we would like to get the king plus the rollaway to make everyone happy. I assume there is a charge for the bed, does anyone know how much that is?

Thanks for any advice/help you can offer. We are just trying to get an idea of what to ask for when we can finally make the ressies.

You can ask for a king size bed room and they have roll-aways that fold up during the day. I think they charge $15 or so a day for the roll-away.:)

I don't think you will be able to get a king room if you have three people. I tried that and wasn't allowed to book it. The king rooms are for either two guests or two guests with an infant in a crib. If you try to book a king room with three but tell them there are only two of you, you won't be able to get a room key for your child..which is important to have for those EMHs.

goofy4tink is right. A room with a king sized bed is limited to two person plus one under the age of three. The best you could do is Alligator Bayou at POR with a trundle bed for your daughter and each of you get one of the double beds.

The only place to get a room with a king bed that has additional sleeping spaces for someone older than 3 is a DVC one bedroom or larger villa. King sized bed in the master bedroom and queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room.

I hear ya.....I cannot sleep in a double bed either.

We wound up getting a cot for my DD....and then we each had
our own bed:thumbsup2

We have the same issue, but we have 2 kids! They're still small enough that we can each share a double with one of them, but we've stayed onsite enough that next trip we're going in the off season and staying in a pool home where we can have a king bed in our own room!!

Another option might be a DVC studio where you'd have a queen (slightly larger, right? :) ) and a pull out sofa or 2 queens. They're very affordable if you rent points, and you have a wide range of resort choices.

Good luck!

If you try to book a king room with 3 people, it will not be accepted. Sorry!

Is this policy (king = 2 adults + 1 under 3) the same for all resorts? Did it change in the last few years?

It's been a while, but, DW and I had a king and a rollaway for our 4 yo at YC several years ago.

Can you get a king room that connects (interior door) to a room with 2 double beds at CBR? As it appears at least some (all?) are accessible, must you be h/c to get the king rooms?

My wife and I can't sleep in a double bed either, so if this scenario works, it might solve all of our problems. This would also get the kids in their own room, which brings me to my next point...

...and not to share more than I should, but my wife and I are not willing to sleep in separate double beds! ;)
