King Rooms at WL and CBR--all handicap-accessible?

If this trip we're planning works out we've decided to split our stay, probably between CBR and WL. We reserved a king room at CBR (paid the extra $15) and put a request in for a king room at WL.

I just looked at the FAQ's for WL and it seems that the king rooms are handicap-accessible. Is this the case with all the king rooms? I like the bathroom storage and having a bathtub, so I prefer a regular room. If so, I'll remove that preference from the ressie.

Is it the same for CBR? I don't want to pay extra for the king room if they are all accessible since I prefer the regular bathroom.

Thanks, T&B

The majority of king rooms at WL are Handicap accessible but not all - we have stayed in both. Unless you really need a tub, the main difference is that sinks are inside the bathroom for handicap and no tub.

I stayed in a non-handicapped, second floor King room at CBR. It was room 3164 in Trinidad North, very nice location close to the main pool and food court; a corner room with a waterview. It was a smoking room.

What I posted on The The New (Part 4) WL FAQ Thread...

About 37 Lodge rooms with King beds double as the barrier-free (handicap-accessible) rooms and have a large shower with no tub.

The lodge has more then 37 rooms with King size beds. But out of all the rooms with King size beds 37 of them double as barrier-free (handicap-accessible) rooms.

I just added the additional information to the post over on the FAQ Thread.

Sorry for the confusion.

Beckie, do you know how many king rooms total that there are?

Is there less bathroom storage in the accessible rooms? The HA room that we stayed at when we were at HRH had a rolling cart, but no other storage.

That reminds me--I don't know if my DH requested non-smoking. Better check on that since that matters more to me than bathroom storage. ::yes::

Thanks for all the info!

Magic in My Heart....I tried to find your post on the handicapped king rooms at WL and was unable to find it. Do you know the page #? Thansk so much.........:wave2:

Hi, I was wondering if all of the handicapped rooms at WL were in the same general area or in a more convenient area than the other rooms? We have a woodsview room.

Thanks, Lene

The King size rooms are located through out the Lodge and are available in woods view but most are Courtyard View on ground level for easier access.

I have never stayed in a barrier-free (handicap-accessible) at the Lodge...So I'm not sure :confused3 about the bathroom storage.
I have never been able to get an exact number on total rooms with King size beds with standard bath. Oh and your statement "I don't want to pay extra for the king room if they are all accessible since I prefer the regular bathroom." There isn't an additional charge for a King size bed at Wilderness Lodge
it will be a request and request aren't guaranteed.

Yes, I realize that about the WL. That comment was about CBR since with the current ressie we're paying $15/night extra for the king bed. :D
