or are they all nice views. Any info appreciated...have never been to Universal before.

Thanks

We just stayed in a king room. The first room had a freeway view and the second room have a great theme park view.

we have stayed in king suite 3600 several times- great location and great view!

i lost my flicker account.
trying to pay and have it reactivated.

don't be disappointed if you don't get the requested room.
it will depend if that room will be empty at the time of your ressie.
there are other king suites with a great view also at rph.

I wish a new a few more room numbers...anyone else...anyway to get floor maps so I would know room numbers in case front desk does not know how to give me the best available view.

How high up do you have to be to glimpse a good park view 3 floor and up? I have never been so I don't know..which tower is good....I think I would prefer park view....any strong opinions....

Thanks

the lobby is on floor #3.

request floor 5-6-7 for more of a decent view if you want the park view.
the foliage has grown over the years so what some will say is a great view, think of the floor level.

if you are on floor 3-4, you can get a view of the park, but more of a direct view not the one of looking out and maybe down on the park.

i had a king suite once on a lower floor but the trees has grown fully and blocked the view i wanted.

if you only want a king suite, there are a few of them on the floors in all the towers.

the front desk TM's can tell you about the rooms when you check in.
they can check the room map they use.

sent you a pm.

Thanks Raven for the help and the PM.....have a much better idea now of what I'm looking for....

Are there king suites on the high floors? I am already thinking about our next trip and want to have more space so either a king suite or the Jurassic Park suite. Anyone know what floors both of those types are on?

We just came back on the 28th of Nov. and figured we were good for a couple years before a next trip but nope we miss it already and are planning for August 2012.

king suites are on most of the floors.

yes to floors 4-5-6-7.

jurassic park suite is on the higher floor.

Thanks Macraven. As usual you are a wealth of information.

Here is another question for you. Because our trip will be shorter next time, I am thinking we may take an evening flight and stay at an airport hotel for the night so we can check in early the next day at the hotel and have a full day as opposed to wasting a day travelling and a better pick of a room with a great view. I am afraid that if we take a late flight and don`t get to RPH until midnight we will get a crappy room view. What do you think....

depending on the date (month, weekend day, etc.) you will arrive at midnight, you might be correct.
be assigned the room w/o the view.........

if you call the hotel prior to arrival and let them know you will check in around midnight but have a room choice, ask if they could hold it for you.

arrive before midnight, you would be paying for that room for that day.

see what is cheaper.
a night at the airport hotel or onsite at UO.

you can do the same for a check in at 2 in the morning.
call a few days out from your arrival and find out which room/tower you are to be assigned.
talk to the TM and make a decision of having that room set aside for you as you will have an early morning, after midnight, arrival.

if it was me, i would prefer to go directly to the onsite hotel.
if i would be arriving around 11:30 pm, i would still go that route.

i prefer to settle in, have the luggage in the room and then go to bed within an hour of checking in.

i would sleep in an hour longer that next morning as i would not be up early to prepare to change hotels again.

all i would have to do is get up, get dressed, pour coffee down my throat and then hit the parks.

i would have the hotel cards and not have to deal with anything but get to the parks that morning.

(once i am settled in for that night, i would have a better rest as my mind would not be racing of all the things i would have to get done if i was to relocate to another hotel early the next day.)

some would rationalize they could save some money by not having to pay a full day at the hotel when they check in before midnight.
that's a very valid point.

to me, my priority would be time and not money.

It's cheaper to stay at the airport the one night but money is not the issue, it's time.

When you go on a 7 day trip and spend 2 days travelling that sucks, makes only 5 full days for fun. So I thought that if since I can't get 8 days off work we could fly out after I get off work the night before and have 6 full days of fun but don't want room leftovers lol. I think I will just check into RPH late and call earlier in the day and ask them to save us a room with a good view, I will voice my concern.

Thw way I see it is everyone who pays the big bucks for a king suite should get a good view!

fyi.. middle of August 2012

mid august might be near the end of the summer crowds.

if the hotels are not up to a high% of occupancy, don't fret over getting the room w/o a view.

call some days before you leave on your trip.
rooms are assigned days out from your arrival.

call and let them know you are having a late arrival and would like to know your tentative room assignment.

call again the day before you arrival at the hotel and make sure your notes on time arrival is listed correctly.

i do that and once found an error on my arrival time.
it was corrected then and all went fine.
