Would i be more likely to get a king bed if I request a room for a person with disabilities over just requesting a king bed?

If you need a room for disabilites Guaranteed the Special Needs department at Central Reservations can do that for you. If you are just requesting a king bed it wouldn't hurt to say it was for medical needs, but it is still just a request...Unless you are staying at a Moderate resort (Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans French Quarter or Riverside)... Moderate resorts have king bed rooms as a dedicated category of room, so at any of those you could "Book" a King bed room rather than just "request" one.

And not all rooms which are HA have a king. We were in a HA room at the GF which had two queens.

We have stayed at the moderate resorts the last 3 visits to WDW and all three times we booked a King room. Not sure which resort you will be staying at but at moderates they just charge a little more.
