Does anyone know if there are King beds available at PC? I called to make a reservation for DH and I for next month and asked about a king bed and was told that there are none at PC. I thought this was odd. Seems I remember requesting one on a previous reservation that had to be cancelled and was never told there were none. I asked her if there were "none available" or "none at the resort" and was told none at the resort. Anyone know for sure?? The CM was very friendly and seemed to know what she was doing as far as everything else. I just found this odd. Thanks for any info.

There are definitely king beds at Pop....in fact, we stayed in one just 5 months ago.

HOWEVER....they may refer to them as "handicap accessible rooms". These rooms have king beds and roll-in showers instead of traditional bathtubs.

There are a limited number of rooms with king beds available, and many of them are equipped and reserved for handicapped/disabled. I think there is a $10 fee for rooms with king beds.

Check the WDW official website to be sure.

Thank you. That's what I thought. It's not a big deal, just thought it would be nice. Definitely wouldn't want it if someone else needs it, but thought if one were available... then.. well, you know. I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't losing my mind.

We had a room with a King Size bed in the 90's at Pop Century. The bathroom had a regular tub and shower, and was not handicapped accessible.

I think I will just wait until we check in and see if any are available. Like I said, Not a big deal, but would be nice. Thanks for the replies.

We requested a king bed room, and received one, not a handicapped room. Only problem was it was in the 80's A building as far away from food court and transportation as possible.

We're going in September. I'm really excited because this is our first time ON SITE! Which section is closer to the food court and the bus stop? Thanks!

Donna

We have stayed twice at Pop and had King bed both times. We were in the 80's one time and the 70's the next. Both were "accessible" rooms. It's a great place to stay. We will be there again in September!

There are a limited amount of King-bed rooms available at Pop Century. Some are standard rooms, others are wheelchair accessible, meaning they have a roll-in/walk-in shower, versus the traditional tub. There is no extra charge for a king bed.

Waiting until check-in usually isn't a good idea, as they will probably all be pre-blocked by then. You'll want to call back and have it notated on your reservation that you'd like to request a king bed. Re-interate it upon checkin. Remember though, it's just a request, and is not guaranteed.

Thanks again. I guess I'll double check w/ DH when he gets home from work and see how important it is about the king bed. I don't care one way or another, I'm just happy to be going to Disney!

We stayed in a King with regular bath in May... on the 3rd floor, 50's section, I think.

My mom went down the week of and asked them to put us in a King because DH is 6'5 and doesn't fit in a double bed... there were no problems, and they even got us connecting with a double double next door with my mom and sister =)

I would not take your chance at checkin but instead contact them ahead of time... it shouldn't be a problem, and the king rooms are much more spacious then the doubles... we had plenty of space!

Enjoy your stay!
