Are two adults and a three year old allowed to stay in king bed room? I assumed not because kings were never an option when I searched. However, when I looked just now (after the site came back on) it is showing a King as an option. That would definitely be our preference as our 3 year old wants to sleep with us in new places. It is showing 2 adults, 1 child. Just seems strange that suddenly kings are an option.

Which resort are you looking at? I haven't seen that before but if it's a deluxe that has a daybed or trundle, maybe?

Deluxe rooms with a daybed and a king bed would sleep 3, as wold moderates with the Murphy bed.

As others stated above, it must be a room with a second sleeping surface.

I believe you can only book a room with a king bed in the moderate resorts for some reason. Were you looking at other categories? If so, that could be why king bed rooms weren't showing up.

It would be helpful to know what resorts you are looking for. We stayed in a king room at GF RPC that slept 3. They just brought a rollaway in for my son. However, at BWI, in the garden suites, they brought the room capacity down to 2 (it was 4 previously). Please let us know which resorts you are considering and we can probably help you out a little more.

For deluxes, you can request a king bed by phone, but it's not guaranteed and it's not a separate booking category. Some standard rooms at deluxes do have them, though. Often, the third person's bed is a converted sofa. I like them better myself, as the room feels more spacious with only one bed. And of course, the bed is bigger, which is a bonus, too.

It was serveral different Mods-POR, CBR, CSR. There could have been others but the site is messing up again today so I can't really see what rooms are available.

POR and CBR offer rooms with a fold down murphy bed for the child.

CSR offers King Suites that would have sleeping space.

Thanks! It just seemed odd that no king rooms were available during my searches until after the update/maintenance or whatever it is they were doing. Hopefully that holds true so I can book a king. Would definitely help with our son wanting to share our bed!

Only when it is a "bookable category" will you know for sure you will get a King bed so look for those when making your reservation.

When we travelled with my oldest (2.5 at the time) two years ago we were able to book a king bed room at POR. There was a murphy bed that he could have slept in--but he felt more comfortable sleeping with DH and I at the time. Anything that works for us all to get sleep at night was fine in my book. Know that they do have limited king bed rooms---so when I asked for something closer, it was difficult for the front desk to find, but were happy in the Bayou room, even though I had hoped for the "prettier" colonial looking buildings prior to getting there.

There are definitely Standard King rooms at POR and CBR that sleep 3. It's a king bed and a murphy. While a booking category, expect that the room type is what you'll get, and not any additional complex requests about location, etc.
