We had dinner at Applebees on Friday night with the kids. While we were waiting for a table, we started talking to a couple who was traveling home from a Christian concert in VA. The woman's name was the same as my DD's, so that was a big hit. Our kids were crawling on their laps and we were enjoying their company. We started talking about the kids' adoption story and they were very interested in eventually adopting themselves.
We were sorry when we both got tables across the restaurant from one another. My DD was telling her namesake that she loved her by the time we were being seated.
When it came time for the waitress to give us our check, she told us that the manager told her that another table had taken care of our bill for us. We looked around the restaurant and didn't see any of my DH's customers who might have done this for us, nor did we see his boss, who may have done this. It HAD to be the couple that we had just met when waiting for our tables.
We have no idea who they are to say thank you for the meal. We would have loved to tell them how much we appreciated their kindness.
