I am traveling to Orlando, arriving on June 6th at about 11.00 AM and departing on June 11th, returning the car about 6:00PM. I just booked an economy vehicle as it is just my 6 year old son and myself. The best I seemed to be able to do was National's rental site for $136.46. Anyone have any better ideas? I looked at the Entertainment book but those coupons can't be used with my situation. (Small vehicle, no weekend days) Hotwire was more expensive. ($185.00 or so) Any input from you bargain hunters???

Those are almost the exact dates I'll be down there!
That's about the price I've found when doing my searching. I'm getting a full-size, since there will be four of us, but our price was just a little higher.
mousesavers.com lists several discount codes. Are you a member of Sam's or Costco or AAA? They will offer coupons, codes, etc. I've found mousesavers the best source for rental tips and discounts.

Hope this helps!

Hi. I understand your dilemma because my husband and I are going to be in Orlando at the same time. Your best bet is Budget. The prices that you quoted was nothing compared to what budget quoted me for an economy car. Go to their website...

Use the Priceless Vacations Contract ID (6600330) at National's site.

I plugged in the days and times that you gave. The rate I got a rate of $125.45 for an economy car.

I tried Budget, Avis and Alamo with the codes on Mousesavers and that's the best I could do.

I tried Alamo with the Entertainment coupon $15 off Minimum 3 day rental anytime any day and got $120.39 total for compact....Not that much difference, but every little bit helps!!

Opps, I forgot to say that you can almost always get a lower price on the rental car companies website, rather than calling the 800 #.....

You all are so kind!! I am absolutely amazed that all of you would take time out of your day to actually fiddle around with rate codes for me!! A complete stranger!! Thanks again to all!! I am going to move on these suggestions and keep on checking back periodically to the websites to ensure I received the best rate!

I just booked a car through Hotwire today for 8 days the last week in June. Total cost with taxes was $130! They only use three companies so I knew it would be one I was okay with...ended up with Hertz by the way. Keep checking!
