kindle vs sony reader?

anyone looked into both and have some pros and cons i can go on. I am sooo confused by the difference. maybe im not looking in the right place. Please help. and if u got the sony reader where did u end up finding the best price? TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our DD14 wanted a Nook but after looking at them, I don't see the point. For the same money we bought her a netbook for Christmas, that can download the same books AND do everything that a computer can do on the internet. Both were about $250. The only benefit I see is you can download a book anywhere there is coverage, and I just can't imagine needing to download a book THAT bad that she can't wait to get home or anywhere there is wifi.

DH and I have Kindles, and as he was a semi-nonreader- he is now reading like crazy! We both really enjoy them, and the advantage for me is that I can bring a decent size library with me wherever I go without taking up tons of luggage space.

I like the feel of it better (Kindle 2). It has rounded corners, and the buttons are easy to use. I'm not a tekkie- but I really enjoy slipping it into my bag and being able to pull it out anywhere.

We were invited to a special church program at a friend's church, and had to get there an hour early. So while we were waiting for the program to start, we pulled out our Kindles and read while we waited. We didn't disturb anyone, got quite a few questions about them and did some demonstrations- and might have sold a few!

I haven't spent much on books- I look for classics and books that are free. I did just purchase an 8 book set for $24.50 which works out to $3 or so per book. Better price than the $7.95 or so that I used to spend on paperbacks.....

I just went through the same debate...I bought my husband a zune hd and got a $30 e gift card from Walmart...I was determined to use it a sony pocket ereader...it would have only been $169 versus the $259 Kindle2...but I read and read and the reviews just led me to ordering the Kindle2..We compared it to Ipod versus Zune my husband loves his Zune because he can download anything from any site I prefer Ipod I enjoy the onestop shop of ITtunes store...The Sony can download books from most sites the Kindle is strictly Amazon...the screen is bigger unless you go to the sony touch version...I also liked the word to speech feature on the kindle. I used the e giftcard to buy a case for the Kindle

This is the one BIG thing I am loving about the kindle!!!! Just tell me is it worth the money? If it is I am sold! I read ALOT and Im sick of my books sitting in my car or in my office. I want one thing I can bring anywhere! Its the best idea for sure!
