You'll like it. I have a Kindle Fire (not an XD), and I love it. I saw the sale earlier this morning. I was tempted, but I already spent over $150 through Amazon this weekend.

That is a steal.
Refurbished has same warranty as new, and for a 8.9 HD, even for someone (like me that already has a 7") that just wants to watch videos or read on a bigger screen, that price is a giveaway. Whatever their reasons, rolling out new or whatever, the original 8.9 HD stands on its own... and for that price, especially compared to other tablets around that size, it's a no-brainer to me.

FYI another one day only $129 deal for same Kindle HD 8.9 refurbished. it is prev gen, not HDX..same as earlier post, but again a great price on a great device.
