Kindle Cover Issue

I know everyone here loves their Kindles. I've had the latest gen one since it came out and I bought the Kindle Leather Cover (non-lighted) with it. Over the past few months I've noticed the Kindle restarting and losing my place in books - and it was happening more and more frequently. At first I thought it was a software issue, but I upgrade to the latest rev and no change.

I called customer support after seeing a post on Engadget that talked about the cover shorting the Kindle and causing the same problems.

Amazon knows there is an issue, gave me a $60 credit (the case only cost $30) and advised me to buy the more expensive lighted leather case with my credit (which I probably won't do).

So if anyone else is experiencing random restarts or just has the leather case, give them a call.

Kevin beat me to it. I was going to suggest you check over at the Kindle forums on Amazon. I'm happy to hear they gave you a credit of $60 though. That would definitely make me feel better.
