So what is better the kindle app or kindle? I love the word wise feature I only know about that because dh and I have had to switch phones before any other cool features the the kiddle has that the app does not have

A kindle is better for your eyes, than using a device like a tablet, phone or iPad with the app. It is to do with how they are lit up. The kindle is like reading a page of a book with directional light. So I always recommend the kindle over the app if you can get one.

Not sure what you mean by word wise, but if you mean finding out what a word means, yes, the kindle has that feature, you just highlight a word, and it will tell you the meaning.

I prefer my kindle but when I don't have it accessible I read on my kindle app. There should be some amazing deals this Tuesday during Prime Day!

I agree with others, I prefer reading on my kindle paperwhite. Much better on your eyes and the battery lasts a very long time, so I don't have to worry about draining my phone battery on a flight, etc.

I love my kindle paperwhite, I have had a couple other models and this is by far my favorite. I much prefer the paperwhite for reading, and also adding new content is easier on the Kindle than the app. I only ever use the app if I accidentally forget my kindle, or am otherwise without it and have unexpected reading downtime. Reading on your phone really isn't good for your eyes and is also extremely difficult in bright lighting, neither of these are issues with the paperwhite.

I love my Kindle Paperwhite. I just upgraded to the Voyager but haven't started using it yet. If you read alot I would recommend that over using the app on a phone or tablet. You get much less eye strain and its is just like looking at a book when outdoors so its very easy to read.

If someone is looking for a Kindle, Amazon's Prime Day is coming up. I bought mine on sale on Prime Day last year.

I have a kindle Paperwhite but I also have the Kindle App on my iPad mini.....I like both of them

After going back and fourth for a few months about whether I needed one (I was using a kindle fire as my e-reader), I finally purchased a kindle paperwhite a few months ago. The paperwhite I got had a few manufacturing issues, but I liked it so much that when returning it I upgraded to a voyage. I honestly only use my phone or tablet now as an e-reader when using a service like scribd which can't be viewed on a kindle e-reader, or when I forget my voyage (which is small enough that it goes everywhere with me).
