I must admit I am surprised at SSR posts that folks are getting these resales in the low 50's and upper 40's in some cases. Is it really that easy or is it taking many months to get a steal (IMO) like that?

Any time you see someone hitting serious lows in terms of price per point, it usually comes after lots and lots of rejection. Just gotta be willing to wait for that one seller to say yes.

Our 1st and only offer for SSR was in the low 50's and was accepted immediately. So yes, for us it was that easy.

Unfortunately we are still waiting for the sellers to return closing docs (it's been 2 months since we passed ROFR) this part has NOT been easy. It's taking many months to complete this deal.

I'm more surprised DVC is letting them get through ROFR at those prices. Congratulations. And good luck getting the signed docs soon.

I got SSR last year for $48 pp..it was my 2nd offer. So I guess for us it was...However, it was just before that March deadline and the market was flooded.

I too have wondered this as the list price is in the 60's. I am hoping to find something next year for the low 50s high 40s.

I'm not sure I could wait thru that, the ROFR is hard enough wait.

We got a pretty good deal on ours -- loaded with 2011 and 2012 pts we paid $60/pt, but the seller pays MF. If you factor that in its like getting it For $51/pt.

We made a few offers around $55 and they were rejected without a counter. We offered a higher $ per pt, and seller paying MF and they accepted right away. Maybe try that? The seller might be more willing to accept since they already paid that money anyway. Good luck!

My first offer for 50pp at bwv was accepted, but after a couple months on these boards i have realized i was incredibly lucky.

I got 270 SSR last year for 50 per point, I think it is that easy.
We told the agent that we wanted to pay 50 per and to call around and make offers. 2nd call produced a deal.

I have no idea why anyone is paying more than 55 per point for SSR. I see a lot posts where people didn't know they could negotiate.

Take charge of the negotiation and get a low price. Don't start at the seller's asking price, start at your low offer.

The list price is the asking price, not the selling price. It is what the seller would like to get. Some people pay full price for a new car too.

Sellers start high, buyers start low. When I bought at SSR last september there must have been 30 contracts for sale. That helps sellers accept a lower price. Not sure what it is like now. The sellers are motivated and want out.
