Kinda rude CM and questions about ASMovies

So I called WDW Reservations today to give them our CAA number for the room discount. The very pleasant CM I spoke to initially had to transfer me to the Grand Gatherings reservation CM, as we have 4 rooms booked. The Grand Gatherings CM was downright surly - monosyllabic answers (eg I asked if there was a telephone number that would go directly to the Grand Gatherings department and he said ÿes - that's it, yes. I had to ask him for the number LOL), quite unhelpful when I asked about making sure that our rooms were on the ground floor and very near a DSM (there are 3 smokers in our party, one of which has restricted mobility) and it was just a really un-Disney experience for my first call ever to WDW

As for ASMovies, can anyone tell me their experience staying there? Also, if anyone knows which building/room would be on the ground floor and really near a DSA, I'd really appreciate that info!

I expected much better customer service from Disney, honestly :confused3

Also posted in the Resorts forum, but maybe my fellow Canadians could share their experiences too (I hope!) :thumbsup2

I'm sorry but I don't know what a DSA is, or a DSM

It's unfortunate, to say the least, that you had a bad experience on the phone today. I stayed at ASMo last year, and DH and I really enjoyed it. The buildings are all 3 storeys, so each one has a ground floor :) We were on the 3rd floor, but the building had an elevator so it wasn't a problem; I was worried we'd have to lug our luggage up two flights of stairs in the blazing summer heat, but that turned out to be a non-issue.

We were near the back of the complex, in the Love Bug section, so it was also pretty quiet back there. A longer walk to get to the pool, the cafeteria, etc, though.

The room that we were in was attractive, but pretty small. My only true complaint about it though (I didn't mind that it was small) was that the beds were very high. I am short and I basically had to almost climb up into bed! I don't know if all the rooms have such high beds, though -- the only rooms I saw were my own and my friend's.

We stayed in the Mighty Ducks buildings when we were there & loved it. It has its own pool - very quite & not too many people there. Our room was in the back of the building so we didn't hear any of the music that plays

we stayed in the Dalmation building (Building 1) it is the closest to check in and the bus stop, and is very close to both pools, the food court, and the store. I couldn't tell you the room numbers for the bottom floors, since we were on the third floor. As for a designated smoking area, I believe there is one near the laundry area, at the end of building 1 (near the Duck pool).

We love ASMovies, to us it is the most Disney of all of the resorts. We found the food court wonderful, and the Duck pool was really quiet.
