Kinda bummed...

Well I don't blame you one bit for being bummed out. CSR > pre-surgery doctor visits. I am sorry. It stinks!

But, you are canceling for the right reason. Your knee will be thanking you later. Wishing you a successful surgery and speedy recovery @leebee! :flower1:

Sorry you had to cancel. I've had both knees replaced (October 2021 and March 2022), and I would ABSOLUTELY do it again. I'm sorry I waited so long.

Just think of the awesome time you'll have once you're recovered and better able to navigate!

I just canceled our Disney trip for next week. I got a killer rate at Coronado Springs ( averaging $206 a night, tax included) and couldn't resist. It wasn't a park trip, it was a rest&relaxation visit after a particularly long, hard academic year. When I was at CSR last fall (solo trip, just there for dinner) I realized how much DH would like it there. We were just going to relax, drive around the area, etc. Sadly, my total knee replacement surgery is scheduled for May 31. That doesn't overlap with the trip, but the associated pre-surgical visits meant shortening our trip- which then made airfare astronomical. SO... no Disney trip for me, to take my mind off of the surgery while I wait. Once I know the TA has canceled the hotel, I'll cancel with Southwest, Boma, Hoop de Doo, Sangria University. I am pretty bummed right now.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Leebee!
We can sympathize because we had to cancel our trip in Feb/March. I had everything set up and done!!! But we were driving and the weather between our home and Florida was horrible - tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, etc. So, we had to cancel. It broke my heart to have to cancel everything. We were going to Universal, not disney, but it was still a disappointment. I'm still not over it, but sometimes, things can't be helped.
At least you will have a good new knee following your surgery and therapy. Then you can do disney right:)
I know that probably doesn't help right now, but I know what you are going through!

I would like to thank everyone for your support; I knew you guys would understand. I also know that this is the best thing for me, health-wise (I was concerned with air travel, @Pea-n-Me ), and I also know that this is a very first world, trivial problem compared with what some are going through right now (more hugs to you @Kitty 34 ). There will be other trips, I'll be in better shape to take them, I know it'll work out in the long run.

Na, you are entitled to be bummed out over the change in plans and the loss of your trip. I hope your knee replacement goes great and your rehab following it progresses quickly and the operation brings you lots of relief and ease of movement going forward.
Enjoy planning your NEXT trip!

I’m sorry that happened. But sooner than you think you’ll be able to reschedule and get around even better.

Plans are made! We will leave Thursday morning for Plymouth, MA for one night. On Friday we'll do Plimouth Patuxet Museum (aka, Plimouth Plantation) and then head down to Hyannis for 3 nights before coming home. Not sure what we'll do, but Hyannis is more centrally located on the Cape for driving trips. Not the vacation I'd planned, but we won't be flying and if we have to come home for an unexpected appointment (or job interview), it's only a 4+ hour drive. I am sure we'll have a good time!

I’m sorry you had to cancel your WDW trip. Consider it postponed instead of canceled.
Like everyone else has said, it will be so better when you’re fully recovered. Positive thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. Hugs to you.

Enjoy your trip to Plymouth and Hyannis!
