Kind of Surprised by This....

I tried to book 'Ohana for dinner for July (any night between the 19th and 25th) and there is NOTHING open except 8:50pm and later.

I know it's a hot spot, but I was having luck with places like CRT and Le Cellier, so I was thinking that 'Ohana would have some availibility. Nope. Nothing!

It's ok - I'm not devastated or anything. I'll keep checking randomly and see if anything opens up for a more 'family friendly' time. LOL!

Last May OHana was the only res. we couldn't get. We got it at the 180 window for our November trip and we really loved it so I see why it's a tough one. Booked it again for our May trip this year.

It seems 'Ohana is joining Cinderella's Royal Table and Le Cellier as restaurants that fill up absurdly quick. It was difficult to snag a table for my January trip and completely impossible to change it once booked. I know 'Ohana has garnered tons of criticism on these boards lately, but I have not had a negative experience there yet. I think 'Ohana is the one place that warrants making a reservation months in advance.

Just keep checking! People really do cancel often. With a bit of luck and dedication, you may still have a chance.

We are going June 12-18 and no Ohana available any time. I will keep checking and then call once we are there. It's one of our favorites!!!

We went to Ohana for the character breakfast on our last trip. It was a lot of fun! I've never been there any other time of day, can you tell me what is different... or special... about dinner? I know that the place itself is really great, but wondering if there is something I don't know.

I'm not surprised. Ohana has been my real challenge too. My 180 was back before Oct. 27th when they were only booking 90 days in advance, so I had to book all my ADRs with everyone else that suddenly opened up to 180 on Oct. 27th. I tried the online system but it was crashed that whole morning. I called the dining line and amazingly was lucky enough to get answered right at 7:00 a.m. Now, there's no way anyone could have booked Ohana prior to that day due to the change from 90 to 180 and STILL I could not get a 7:00 reservation for any of my eight possible nights. I was able to get a 6:20 and luckily grabbed it, but there are no Wishes that night due to Grad nights and we wanted to stay and watch from the beach. I've tried multiple times a day since then to switch any day to a 7:00 and have not found anything!

Remember, there are only 2 TS restaurants at the Polynesian, and it's a big resort. You also have many other MK resort guests eating there, as well as other resort guests too.

If you do get an ADR, be prepared for seriously long waits to check-in, be seated and to get through your meal. Breakfasts take at least 1.5-2 hours (way too long) and so that restaurant is always behind!

Not that you asked, but there are much better restaurants to eat at besides 'Ohana, IMHO. Kona is so much better!

I agree...keep checking. In the last 2 weeks I have changed my dining reservations probably 5 times because we moved up our vacation by a week. So I had a lot of cancellations. Ohana wasn't one of our choices this year, but if you can't get in there...go to Kona! That one is on our list. We really love Kona for dinner. The food is great...not the same stuff as Ohana, but its worth going to.

Ohana for dinner is HUGE. It's much easier to get for breakfast.

I guess I'm in the minority....I've never had trouble getting Ohana at a decent time. Funny....I don't often book vacations very far in advance either. For me far in advance is about 3-4 months. Often I book 3-4 weeks in advance.

Keep trying.....if you can use the online system, check it as many times a day as possible. I did that last fall and got every single dinner ressie that I wanted and they were all between 6 and 7pm. My big one last year was Teppan Edo. I checked the online system sometimes 10 times a day....I finally got it after about a week.

It seems like Ohana, CRT, Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier are the most coveted adrs. Like the op said keep checking, people change their reservations frequently

Should actually say it really isn't that difficult to get 'Ohana for dinner if you're okay with 8:30 or after, but I've noted most people with kids don't want it that late. It's extremely hard to get for prime family dinnertime.

O'Hana was always a must for us ... however, the last two times there for dinner were a bust! Very, very poor service and the food quality just isn't what it used to be. Meats were a bit dried out and we had to flag down passing servers to get any attention as our original server had disappeared! We even had to flag down someone to bring our bill after TWO HOURS!!! No wonder it is hard to get a reservation ... they don't take care of people and move them out in a timely fashion!

We decided after two years in a row of a less than satisfactory experience, it was off our list.

Now, surprisingly, I had trouble getting Mama Melrose for my desired time at 180 days out! It's not even a Fantasmic night! I did finally get something but it's about an hour before what I really wanted.

'Ohana was by far the most difficult ADR to get for our trip in May, which includes Le Cellier, CRT, and Chef Mickey's. I finally mananged to snag an ADR at 5:00 pm- a bit earlier than I wanted, but I'll take it! Keep trying- maybe something will pop up!

I am not surprised at all. The dessert at 'Ohana is the best dessert at WDW. Nuff said.

there's a 5pm spot available for 3 ppl on the 25th .

also - a 5.25 and 6.10 spot on the 19th.

Are there any disadvantages to having a late ressie vs an early one? I refer to both breakfast and dinner. I am adding the final tweaks to my plans for dining tonight and just wondered as I was considering a late breakfast and an early dinner. Although having read this thread maybe I should just take whatever I can get.

Try this. Try adding one or two to Your ressie. If you need a ressie for 4 put in 5 and just tell them at check in that it is only for 4. I have never had a problem adding or minusing a person when I show up. Hope this info helps some people.
