Kind of OT, but not completely

Hi, all,

Now that Pixar and Disney are parting ways, how do you think this will effect some of Disney's operations?

For instance, Disney stock has supposedly already gone down and the money is going to have to be made up somehow. What are the chances that DVC will be affected by all this? Will there be an increase in points needed per room? Will there be an increase in the cost of points?

On the other hand, if Michael Eisner and others get voted out and Roy wins his battle, how might that affect the DVC experience?

Just some thoughts...

Will there be an increase in points needed per room?

That can't happen unless DVC lowers the cost for some other corresponding room. The bottom line number of points can't change.

I doubt there will be any direct affect on DVC operations, like HBC said, the overall points for each resort are set in stone, there has been only one re-allocation of points, a few years ago at OKW, and overall it was pretty minor.

The sales price per point didn't drop after 9-11 after a significant drop in tourism, so I don't see this having any affect on prices, either. The only thing might be if tourism drops then it may be harder to rent out points, but I never do that anyway.

As already noted, the total number of points at each resort are a fixed number and cannot change- so if the points needed for some nights are raised, the points needed for others MUST be lowered. Events within other aspects of the Disney corporation can't affect the point structure at any of the existing resorts.

If anyone wishes to speculate about Pixar or Roy Disney, please start or join discussions on the News/Rumors Board.

Thanks!
