Kind of a lame question -- nametags?

Hey! I was wondering about what the nametags for CPers look like. I ask because I go by a nickname, or a shortened version of my name rather than my full name, and I am also curious as to whether it will list my hometown or my school beneath my name.

I guess what I'm asking is, do we get a choice as to what it will say? I know we get them on the same day as Traditions, which seems rather soon.

Yes, you do get them at Traditions. They should have your school on then and the name you told Disney was "Preferred." If you want one with your hometown on it, you can purchase it through costuming once you arrive.

You rock. Thanks for answering! :)

my daughter said that when she was filling out her stuff earlier this week it asked for the name she wanted and her home town it didn't ask her what teh name of her school was.how do we get her school on it??

I think it automatically puts the name of the school on since you tell them what school you attend when you apply and they check with your school for verification that you're OK to do the program (full time student, etc.)

You finalize what you want at Traditions and then you get them at the end :). Mickey came into mine and gave them to us!

Ok, not sure about the nicknames.

My boyfriend's real first name is Jonathan. He put his "Preferred Name" as "Drew" but still had "Jonathan" when he got there, so putting that on your app doesn't guarantee that it will be right. He asked his trainer for a correct one, but the new one still said Jonathan. At that point, he went through Costuming and paid $5 for the final one.

There is a spot on the app for you to type what you want your nametag to say below your name, ie. your city and state, or your university. Keep in mind, everyone except CPs has to have their city and state. So if you want to blend in and not stand out as a CP, do that. If you want to take advantage of being able to have something different, do the school.

Not sure how the person above me's Traditions was so awesome! haha. For mine, as soon as I walked in, all of our nametags were on a table ready for us. We wore them during the class. Mickey definitely didn't give me mine, but that would have been amazing.

Stuff changes all of the time. That's why most of us alumni really have no clue and shouldn't be trusted when we say "this is how it is". it really should be "this is how it was and it might be different now".

Just throwing this out there- if you do the CP at Disneyland, your nametag will have your hometown and state, not your school. I personally like it better that way.

I'm doing the CP now and when I went thru Traditions in June, they said we can have a shortened version of our name or the same name, spelt differently for our original nametag. Also, it will automatically come with the name of your school. In order to get a new nametag with whatever name you want and your hometown (or honestly any city/state/country), you have to purchase it through costuming and it costs 5$

Has anyone taken the test to get a language put on your nametag? What was that like?

I am doing Spring 2011, so when I did my acceptance paperwork it said I could use my first or middle name, or a shortened version of either. And it asked for my hometown.

I put my nickname for my preferred name; I also put my school's name. I'm excited for my nametag!

If I remember correctly, I was asked if I wanted my school name OR my city and state on my tag. I think I chose city and state but now I think I'd rather have my college.

BLAST!!!!!
