Kim's new and improved life journal!

Hi Kim,

That is really awesome that you got out there and ran 4 times this week!!! Way to go!!!!!! That's a huge accomplishment! Your time was great too...you should be happy with that. Especially considering the heat and humidity this time of year! But like Scott said...just be careful and pay attention to how you feel out there. It can be brutal!

And I'm a total TV junkie myself!!! Been staying up a bit later than I should as well!!!

Hey...have a great time at Hillary Duff concert. I know two little girls who would LOVE to be going!!!! I'm sure it will be fun!!! And good luck to your little guy on his Karate Test this weekend!!! Have a great weekend girl!

So i am waiting to hear how the concert and karate test went!! details woman, details :)

Just picking on you--talk to you soon

Hey guys. Another busy weekend coming to a close.

Friday night was great. The best part was the look on DD and her friend's faces when they found out they were going to see Hilary Duff in concert! It was unbelievable!!! They were jumping up & down and couldn't stop screaming! The concert was good. She sang for a little over an hour and sounded good. She is definitely WAY TOO skinny, though. It's sad that this is who my daughter looks up to in that sense.

Yesterday we had a yard sale (woo hoo, cleaned out the garage!) and DS had a karate birthday party to go to. Then we had 2 of my nephews sleep over.

This morning I got up and ran 4 miles in 45 minutes. I went out there determined to FEEL better on this run no matter what. So my only option was to not care about time. I kept the same pace the whole entire run and my breathing was under control. It felt great. I know that at some point the speed will come. During this heat and humidity I'm really just gonna get out there and run. I'll post my times, but I'm not relying on them for anything. Once the weather breaks, I'll concentrate on increasing my speed.

DS4 had his karate test today. He is now up to an orange & purple belt (his 5th I think). He is so into it, it's amazing to me. He's such a little lover. An energetic lover, but not violent in any way. He never does karate at home, he saves it for karate class.

Hope you all have a great week!

Great job on the run!! You're gonna do that 5k in 30 minutes or less I bet!!!

Keep it up kim...you're amazing!!!

marie

Hi Kim,

You are doing a great job with your running! Keep up the good work! :cheer2: (Please be careful in this heat.)

Hope you have a great Monday! :sunny:

Morning all!

I ran this morning. MAN is it HOT out there! I am SO looking forward to running in the fall. It's gonna be AWESOME!! :teeth: I ran 3.2 miles in 33.50 minutes.

If we don't get any rain before then, I think Friday I may replace the outdoor run with time on the eliptical (that qualifies, right Marie? ;)). But I'll make sure to get out there this weekend and run again.

I hope all is well out there in WISH land. Take care guys, and STAY COOL!! :smooth:

Wow, Kim!! I just caught up with your journal - all 10 pages I was behind! Sounds like life has been terribly hectic, but you're doing INCREDIBLY well!!

How is mom doing? I'm praying they find something soon. Make sure she keeps after the doctors. My MIL went thru a similar 'we can't find anything' for over 2 years before her gyno found cancer. Had they believed her in the first place it would have been totally curable.

Great job on the running.

Hang in there & have a great rest of the week!!

Hi Kim--My DD likes Hillary too, and I agree she is too thin. It seems they all are!

Great job on running. It is UNBEARABLE here. There is a heat advisory out, so no walking outside for me and the dog. We don't have AC except in the DD and DS's bedrooms. It was 86 at 8 am this morning.

Take care in the heat while running!

Best wishes!

Wendy

Hi Julie!! It's so good to hear from you again. Time flies, doesn't it? My mom is doing well. Her blood pressure is still really erratic, and she's still on muscle relaxers. I think soon she's supposed to cut back to 1/2 the dosage for the muscle relaxers and see if her pain is there or not. I'm so sorry for what your MIL went through. Sometimes we really are smarter than the doctors. It's a shame they don't listen to us. :furious:

Hey Wendy! I highly recommend hanging out in your DD & DS's bedrooms with the AC! You're right, it IS unbearable out there. I really hope we get some rain soon to cool us off a little.

You know, I checked weather.com for the Orlando temps...and NJ is actually HOTTER than Orlando right now!! It's craziness!

Thanks ladies, for checkin in on me! I appreciate it!

Hey kim.....please watch the weather advisory...don't go running if it's too hot. The eliptical will suffice for the challenge. Trust me...if it's too hot, i'm not going to run!! Challenge or not!! :teeth:
What about that woman in NY....7 months pregnant at the ball game....how sad is that??!! Don't overdo it kim....it's not worth it!!

So, you're leaving in 11 days.....hhhhmmmm....and I've gone 19 with no sweet tea......hhhmmmmm........ :scratchin (right about now, I'm wishin I had told you what you could do w/ your challenge!! :furious: , but I'll be nice and count down my last few days.... :sunny: )

later tater!
marie

Hi Kim!

Totally agree with your statments regarding the heat...man it's HOT out there....cannot wait till the fall and the cooler temps!! We all need to stay safe...I think your idea of working out with the elliptical instead of a heat run is a great one. It gives you the same conditioning without the impact.

So Hilary isn't coming around, but the Cheetah Girls are...gonna definitely take DD to go see them :)

Glad your mom is doing ok, and congrats on keeping up the great workouts! You're doing so great!

Have an awesome weekend!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Well, I didn't get up to run OR do the eliptical this morning. Ate really really bad last night & just couldn't get up to exercise this morning...(you'd think I'd feel the opposite way ;)) !

BUT - depending on the temperature, I will either go running or do the eliptical tonight around 7, when we get home from the chiropractor. Gotta keep moving, and going or Marie's gonna be on my case!

Scott- My DD would LOVE the Cheeta Girls too! Probably more than Hilary, since Hilary played a LOT of new songs and DD didn't know them, therefore wasn't "into" them as much.

Marie - Yes, I leave VERY soon for Florida (me & Em did the single digit dance this morning!! ) so you BETTER keep going with that challenge if you want a reward!! You're really doing great so far!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

:grouphug: Hi Kim!!! Wow girl! You really kept it going this week despite the awful heat! Super fantastic job with your runs!!!! I'm so excited for you that Disney is just around the corner :). Too bad...we are missing you guys by just a few weeks!!! I know it's going to be a really great vacation...and much deserved! :goodvibes

Here's hoping that we have some normal temps next week :). Sure is brutal to run in this weather. And of course...thanks so much for all your support these past few months. I can honestly say that I'm not sure I'd have made it this far without friends like you!!!

((HUGS)) Thanks!! Have a great weekend :).

Kim!!!
Hey buddy--First of all-yeah for single digits!! I did my double digit dance today!

Second of all --CLEAN OUT YOUR PMs!!! and since i couldnt PM you, check your email...
Ill probably give you a call later tonight since im babysitting , so if you dnot want to talk to me, shut your phone off ;)

bye :)

Well, I'm not sure WHY I thought I would work out at night. It never happens for me. So next time I say I'm going to....just tell me I'm full of crap! :rotfl: (no comments needed from you, Marie)

Anyway, I went running on Saturday morning. Ran 3.6 miles in 38 minutes. I changed up my normal 4 mile route and thought I was judging it pretty close, but I was about .4 miles off. Here's something really rediculous: The 4 mile course that I've run a couple of times, I run by my house at 3.2 miles and then go around another block & come back to my house right at 4 miles. But running by my house actually kills my spirit. I guess on my 3.2 mile runs I get so excited that I'm rounding the corner to my house and I can see it and I've made it and I'm so happy.....but when I have to run PAST it, I'm like....oh man, I'm not done....can I make it? I don't know...So anyway, I figured I'd change the route so I didn't run by my house, but my early morning mind didn't calculate very well and it ended up being 3.6 miles (I drove it after I stopped running). But either way, I felt good, it was actually cooler than it had been, and I'm glad I got out there.

I have the 5K coming up on Saturday, so I will definitely be taking Friday off. I hope to run at least 2 times if not 3 times before then.

After the 5K and after my trip (which I will be returning on the 20th, Jen) I will be getting back into some weight training and overall body sculpting. I really enjoyed it when I used to do it, but for the last few months I've only been running. And I can see it in my mid-section...I need to get back into it. So I'll need your help guys!!

So, I hate to tell you guys this, but my dad was admitted to the hospital last night. I think I've mentioned before that he has a heart disease. Because of that he lives on blood thinners. Well, he had some pretty serious symptoms and his cardiologist suspected a stroke and sent him to the ER. They are pretty confident he did not have a stroke, but his blood is WAY too thick. Dangerously thick. He was admitted and they are trying to get his blood regulated before it damages his artificial valve. I'm sorry, I know that is a lot of detail....but basically I need some more prayers if you guys can spare them. This has certainly not been a good summer for my parents, and for my sisters and I.

Thanks so much, guys. I hope you all have a GREAT week!

Kim!!! hey buddyyyyy!
Just think, you only have 4 days of work this week and then you are ON VACATION!!!
You can do this 5K! I cant wait to hear how it goes! Have a good day, im off to work and school

Well, Jen - unfortunately I have 5 days of work this week, but I'll make it through somehow! :teeth:

I ran this morning, and finished the 3.2 miles in 31.58!! I was definitely pushing myself faster than my comfort zone and it felt great afterwards (my breathing was definitely crazy during the whole run!). I just really can't wait for the fall when the weather will be just SO nice!

A little side note...I told DS's daycare today that his last day will be September 1st (because of kindergarten), and I started to CRY! I figured I'd get upset on his last day, but not on the day I picked up his withdrawl form!! I truly love that place and the staff has been wonderful. The daycare has been a part of our lives for over 5 years, since my 2nd grader was 1.5 years old. It's gonna be really hard to not go there every day and see their faces.

Anyway, it's Monday....hope you all have a good one!

Hey...hope your dad is doing better...let us know! It has been a rough summer for you, and your parents....here's some pixiedust: & prayers for you...hang in there kim....we're here for ya!
Great job on your running....you're totally gonna kick butt on that 5k this weekend!!!

MY KIDS STARTED BACK TO SCHOOL TODAY!!!
 :cheer2: :dance3: :hyper: :dancer: party: :rockband:
nope, no tears here!!! no more $$$$$$$ for summer camp either!!!
I'm told that DS has a MEAN teacher!!! :thumbsup2 he needs one!!

have a good one kimmy!!

Wow, Marie...are you excited or what? :confused3 :rotfl:
I forgot about camp since we had to pay before she started in June, but I can't believe it'll be almost a whole year that I don't have to pay for school/care for the kids! They are in before/after school some days but that is nothing compared to daycare costs!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

My dad is home already. THANK GOD!!! Hopefully they have figured out the issue and it won't happen on a regular basis. Thanks for the pixie dust & prayers!

Even though you called me Kimmy, Marie, thanks for stopping by!
