Kimpup and MLinDisney CELEBRATE!!! ~ 1st TR~ POP/POLY, DxDP!! 8/31 -9/8 UPDATED 10/24

I love the pictures, that tour looks great!

Tricia! it's been a long time, how are you? :goodvibes

It was about 7:30 am when we finished breakfast at the Grand Floridian Café. We walked over to our car, and drove to Hollywood Studios. We got a great parking Spot at Hollywood Studios and got to the totally empty park at around 8:00.

IMG_0421_zpsa7d62bc7.jpg

No one here at all.

IMG_0422_zpsb74482ba.jpg

Except DD! :rotfl: and those two people sitting in the far right corner.
IMG_0423_zpsb1888790.jpg

and a few CMs! We walked up to the turnstiles:

054-Copy_zps2f239a7d.jpg

and waited here:

IMG_0424_zpsb686614f.jpg

and took a photo of the CMs preparing for us:

IMG_0425_zps3ab588d4.jpg

It was so empty the week we were here, except for EMH nights on Labor Day weekend! We were let in at 8:45 and we headed for:
IMG_0428_zpsdab312ba.jpg

TOY STORY MANIA! I had never been on TSM before. Now I see why everyone likes it. The game can get addicting:

IMG_0430_zps44fe7a6e.jpg

Our first game ever! DD's score is on the left. She won!
We grabbed FPs for TSM and headed for:

IMG_0431_zps13e63947.jpg

ToT! We did this the other night, but I wanted to try it during the day! It was better at night and this particular time didn't have as many bounces, but I enjoyed it. We then headed for:

IMG_0433_zps6eef5745.jpg

Rockin Roller Coaster! This was a wild ride! This was the first time that I rode this one too. Check this out:

39313400004.jpg

That’s us in the back. WILD RIDE!! :scared1: But look at those two in the front. They were so relaxed!! :)
We headed for Star Tours where we went on that one for the first time too. I enjoyed that ride. People were taking photos in there and the CM could see them somehow. They got yelled at through a speaker system! :rolleyes2
We headed back to TSM and went on one more time!

IMG_0429_zps2743b1d0.jpg

FP line was very very short!

IMG_0437_zps809d266f.jpg

And here is the sad result. DD beat me again. Her score is on the right. But at least I was accurate!! :rotfl:
We had quite a bit of time before we had to be at the 11:30 Beauty and the Beast show, so we stopped at Starring Rolls for some cupcakes. (See the DR for some photos of these.)
We finished up at Starring Rolls and headed to line up for the Beauty and the Beast Show. We were seated right away. I loved this show. It was like a Broadway production! It was spectacular!
We headed over to the 12:30 American Idol show. This was a lot of fun! There were three contestants, all female singers. I enjoyed the show and the voting! DD wants to do this when we go back in January!
At 1:00, we headed to the shops:

IMG_0443_zps16a9fcf3.jpg

It was a little crowded by then but not too bad. I didn't buy anything. We left to go to the car and drove to downtown Disney for our ADR at Raglan Road!

NEXT UP : DOWNTOWN DISNEY

We drove from Hollywood Studios to Downtown Disney. It was around 1:20 or so and we got a very good parking spot between Planet Hollywood and T-Rex. We entered near Raglan Road, but we were too early for our ADR, so we started to head to the west side. We mostly window shopped but walked into Candy Cauldron to browse. We headed back to the Raglan Road area and I had to take a photo of DD in front of this store:

IMG_0445_zps1155f4ab.jpg

She wasn't very happy about taking the photo, but there's a story behind this. Since she was little I used to call her Curl and I still do! :) I don't know if that name came to be from me saying "My little Girl" and it turned from Girl to Curl, or because she had curls in her hair when she was that age. But I love this pic!

We then headed to Raglan Road and stopped at the Irish store, then went in to Raglan Road for lunch. After lunch, we headed to the Marketplace. We stopped into the World of Disney. I noticed they had these dresses where the skirt part was made out of dolls. I took a few photos, but they didn't come out that well.

IMG_0457_zpsd2305f2c.jpg

IMG_0458_zpse4b0e28e.jpg

They were very pretty. Right next door was the Lego store:

lego.jpg

These looked so realistic!
After this we visited a few stores. Tren-D, Mickeys Pantry, Spice and Tea Store, LittleMissMatched, and Goofy's Candy Co. We bought many souvenirs. Here are some that I bought:

IMG_0993_zpsc6d746f3.jpg

A Mickey Trivet for my son and daughter -in-law.
I bought one for me too, but it was stainless steel, had Mickey's profile, and I don't have a photo. I bought these for my friends in our book club:

IMG_0997_zpseeee2b22.jpg

I was searching all over for something book related. In all of Disney, they do not sell bookmarks!!! I could not believe that! We bought some other things that I don't have photos of.
We were very tired after HS, and DTD and we still had The Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party that night. We headed back to the car and drove to the Poly to get some rest.

NEXT UP: TOMORROWLAND TERRACE DESSERT PARTY ~ PAGE 1 POST 1, CLICK ON THE LINK

Looks llike another great day! We love TSM - can't believe this is your first time on it. We'll all have to go together in January so you can improve those scores!

DTD is always fun! Those dresses in the windows are so nice even though it's hard to get a good pic! Keep the updates coming!!!::yes::

DTD is always fun! Those dresses in the windows are so nice even though it's hard to get a good pic! Keep the updates coming!!!::yes::

I think what happened is that everytime I went to Disney, we either skipped HS or got there so late that TSM was impossible to get into. I'm glad we got there this time!! Yes, you have to teach ME how to improve my score - not Kimpup!! :rotfl2:

We arrived at Epcot before rope drop. We headed right for Soarin' and rode it in our favorite row 2. We went to Sum of all Thrills again and decided to go to the Universe of Energy to see Ellen's Energy Adventure. There were only about 10 people on those 3 huge Universe of Energy cars!
This is a long attraction, but I remember I enjoyed it last time and I enjoyed it again this time. After this we went onto Spaceship Earth. We took photos of all of ourselves in the future:

IMG_0511_zps989d2b77.jpg

IMG_0517_zps14bb0169.jpg

IMG_0519_zps91bde516.jpg

Here we are in a very dark photo on the board outside the ride:

IMG_0521_zpsa08e35f7.jpg

After this we headed over to the world showcase and saw this:

IMG_0522_zps2f7db352.jpg

Again a very empty day:

IMG_0523_zpsf4ba84f3.jpg

We stopped in China.

IMG_0525_zps5971917a.jpg

I bought this:

IMG_1003_zps5985c269.jpg

These are chopsticks for children. I wish I had this when I went to China. I cannot use chopsticks, although I practiced before I went. I spent three weeks in China and most places had no forks. I'm ashamed to say that I never mastered chopsticks. This would have been perfect for me!! :rotfl:

I enjoyed looking at the trains near Germany:

IMG_0529_zpsaa500d67.jpg

IMG_0531_zpsfd63e642.jpg

IMG_0526_zps8a05547a.jpg

I took quite a few photos of the trains! :)
We then went to the shops in Japan to look for pick a pearl.

IMG_0532_zps04c0c54e.jpg

We both picked a pearl and he made quite a ceremony out of the opening of the shells:

IMG_0533_zps14f320da.jpg

Here is DD patiently waiting for him to open them.
Here is the actual opening measuring and cleaning:

IMG_0534_zpsea5534fb.jpg

Notice the salt, the water and the sizer in the middle. This is a photo of DD's pearl:

IMG_0535_zpsf2a6e80a.jpg

She had the larger one of the two of us at 7 1/4mm. DRUM ROLL:

IMG_0537_zps871d9990.jpg

Here are both pearls after being put in the salt with a smiley face:

IMG_0538_zps2d207e0c.jpg

We then picked out settings. I got a cage for mine:

IMG_0974_zps4b3f8530.jpg

Here it is up against my backpack. I didn't buy a chain for it. DD had a setting. She had to have it glued, so we ate lunch and came back for it later. Here it is:

IMG_0982_zpsf464deb8.jpg

A little dolphin. She bought the chain with hers. We were very happy with our purchases!
After our lunch at Via Napoli, we saw this:

IMG_0550_zps439c30f2.jpg

Juggler! We watched this for a few minutes and headed for Karamell Kuche:

IMG_0551_zps629fc17d.jpg

We picked up two caramels (see DR) and put them in the fridge when we got back to the Poly.

I'm not sure where DD purchased this:

IMG_1037.jpg

A t-shirt with the drinks from each country. It's a cute t-shirt that she saw our first day in Epcot at Mexico, but she didn't pick it up that day.

It was around 2:00 when we left the World Showcase and we headed back to rest up for our dinner at Narcoossee's that night.

After Dinner, we headed back to the Poly, picked up a Dole whip, and watched wishes again on the Poly beach. We sat on a curb with our feet in the sand. We got there a little late for the Water Pageant but caught the whole wishes show.

NEXT UP: Our last day at AK

Once again great pics! I love the pearls with their settings and that t-shirt!:)

How was the wait for TSM? There used to be 15 waits just for the fastpass which would be all gone by 11:00!

We arrived at the park at 7:30:

IMG_0569_zpsa1e76ece.jpg

It was sooo empty. That was the theme this entire trip EMPTY! We were let in about 7:45 and headed for Tuskerhouse.

IMG_0570_zpsf70ce551.jpg

IMG_0571_zpsfbe4ef64.jpg

IMG_0573_zpsa11b2cc9.jpg

IMG_0574_zps12e4f158.jpg

This guy ran ahead of us and left his family behind!
IMG_0575_zps57f40d80.jpg

We're here!!

IMG_0576_zps93040461.jpg

But not the first on line. :rotfl:

IMG_0578_zps03dccf80.jpg

We waited about ten minutes.

IMG_0579_zps27f1fbea.jpg

I took some photos to pass the time. :)
We were finally let inside. I handed the photographer my camera to take this:

IMG_0580_zps065ad469.jpg

Donald!! Our ADR was 8:00 and we were finished with Donald photos by 8:00. (See DR for photos of our food.)
We left Tuskerhouse at around 8:45 and headed for the safari:

IMG_0593_zps365892c4.jpg

We met up with another rope:

IMG_0594_zps7b96dc31.jpg

Rope drop hadn't happened yet at the beginning of the park and we were the first ones here for this rope drop.

IMG_0595_zpse1a3b2b6.jpg

IMG_0598_zps088a9bd4.jpg

I took some photos while waiting. This one is the Baobob tree. It is the only real one in AK. I have some photos of fake ones that I'll post.
We were let in at about 9:00:

IMG_0599_zpsa9f4183b.jpg

We got right on Kilimanjaro Safari:

IMG_0601_zps21bee14f.jpg

We took some fantastic photos on this safari!

CONTINUED IN NEXT THREAD.....

Here are some photos we took on the safari:

This is one of the fake Baobob trees.

IMG_0627_zps4eaf333a.jpg

Baby elephant!

IMG_0632_zps47070175.jpg

Close up.
This next photo shows the same giraffe from the photo above. In this photo is the place where we ate and watched giraffes while on the Wild Africa Trek.

IMG_0633_zpse2a466f2.jpg

The giraffe is on the right.

IMG_0638_zps10284d46.jpg

I have too many photos to post but here are two of my favorites. I've never seen him on any of my trips:

IMG_0646_zps05b4e958.jpg

IMG_0647_zps8b8643a1.jpg

This was great! I want to hear him roar! Maybe on my next trip in January when its cooler.
After the safari we headed for Conservation Station by way of Harambe:
IMG_0653_zps2739ac9a.jpg

There was only one other family on the train:

IMG_0654_zpsdc34265f.jpg

After the train stopped, walked down the trail taking photos:

IMG_0658_zps09f72fce.jpg

We got up to the building where the veterinarians work. I love to watch them work on a different animal each trip.

IMG_0659_zps8f470bc1.jpg

CONTINUED IN THE NEXT POST..............

This time the veterinarians were doing a physical exam on a rare hawk. First they took an xray:

IMG_0660_zps43f14a4c.jpg

This is the same window from the last photo. They had a screen set up to watch the x-ray, which was being done in a little window behind this screen. You can see the window, under the screen, but the view is better from the large screen. After the x-ray, they brought him out:

IMG_0663_zps885819b7.jpg

They told the story of this hawk. (I forgot his name) They found him at Miami Airport. Someone wanted to bring him in illegally then abandoned him. He was very young and they had to feed him with a bottle. After he was with them for a while, he couldn't be let back in the wild. He needed to be taught survival skills by his mother.

IMG_0665_zpsdfbb63e7.jpg

We watched as they examined him, took blood and gave him an innoculation.

IMG_0666_zps58ebd612.jpg

After this, we looked all around this area and then headed back:

IMG_0671_zps435bb050.jpg

We wanted to go on:

IMG_0673_zps0dc6d5c2.jpg

Yikes! I had never been on this before. DD had gone on this on the last trip and said it wasn't too bad :)
We got there and there was the usual 5 mnute wait....

IMG_0675_zps497a1085.jpg

that ended up to be just walk on. It was quite a wild ride!:scared1:

39313400006.jpg

I would definitely do this again! We walked over to Kali River Rapids. I realized I left my flip flops back in the room. DD had hers. I hate getting my sneakers wet, so when I go on Kali, I put on flipflops then change back to sneakers after the ride. So I walked into a shop and bought these:

IMG_1035_zps0777d28b.jpg

These were very cute but with my bad feet, I only wore them on the ride, then quickly changed them because I was sliding around there. They became slippery when wet! I was also going to wear my rain poncho, but last minute I figured it was so hot that I would dry right away, so I didn't wear it. I actually did dry in no time. This ride is always great.
Next we went through Maharajah Jungle Trek:

IMG_0682_zps2ad15e2c.jpg

Love how these bats hang upside down!

IMG_0684_zps06c06ed3.jpg

IMG_0692_zps47b1b00b.jpg

This guy was pacing back and forth.

IMG_0697_zpscab128a1.jpg

Same tiger from the other side, still pacing!
After this we had an ADR at Yak and Yeti (See DR for photos)

From Yak and Yeti, we headed over to the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. We took some photos along the way.

IMG_0709_zpsc9afa3a7.jpg

IMG_0710_zps268d6532.jpg

We saw Kusafiri Bakery, but we were so stuffed from Yak and Yeti that we just took a photo. Next time I would like to try that paw print cupcake.

We headed into the trail:

IMG_0711_zpscbd6fefd.jpg

IMG_0715_zps103137fd.jpg

Hippo under water.

IMG_0719_zps74721501.jpg

This guy didn't budge!
Another gorilla grabbing a snack:

IMG_0726_zps3b3d111f.jpg

We headed out of the Trail over to Finding Nemo. We saw:

IMG_0727_zpse8465520.jpg

Devine!!! I was too late in taking out my camera but caught her walking away. That's her leg and companion behind her. Last trip I got some great photos of her.
It was very early for the Nemo show, so we decided to ride Primeval Whirl again today. Then we headed over to Nemo. I enjoyed the musical! Two great shows at the Animal Kingdom!
After Nemo we looked through some stores and headed for Kidani Village for our 5:00 ADR at Sanaa! We arrived at Kidani Village a little early for our ADR, so we looked in the shop that was there. I bought this:

IMG_1016_zps0cf9ddc1.jpg

Here is what I see when the coffee is finished:

IMG_1017_zps535d2815.jpg

I love this cup, it holds so much coffee!!

After Sanaa, we headed back to the Poly and rested up a little. We went to Epcot, which was open until 12 to see Illuminations. I have no photos of Illuminations. We had a pretty good spot to watch. Epcot was so crowded that night. We shopped a little and headed back to the Poly. Again, we didn't stay for EMH.
When we arrived at the Poly, I asked if we could have a later check out the next day. They said no. That room was booked and they couldn't. I was sad. :sad1:

NEXT UP: OUR LAST DAY - MK, OUTLETS, EPCOT

Once again great pics! I love the pearls with their settings and that t-shirt!:)

How was the wait for TSM? There used to be 15 waits just for the fastpass which would be all gone by 11:00!

Thank you! There was no wait for TSM, the time it took us to walk in there! We were first at the turnstiles. Also right after the ride, we walked right up to one of the fastpass machines, no wait. What a great time of the year to go, no crowds at all. It helps to go at rope drop though!:)

Love your trip report!

:thumbsup2

Thank you! I just posted our last Animal Kingdom day!

Wow, can't believe you're up to your last day already!! This looks like a great trip and you guys had so much fun. Animal Kingdom was really empty - we never see the lion awake either.

That looks like a great tour at AK. I love that mug. May have to look for it next time.

I saw that mug in another trip report and can't wait to buy it in June. Adorable!

The wait time for Expedition Everest of only 5 minutes is unheard of. It looks like you picked a really great week to be in the parks.

I love the look on the gorillas face. I could watch them all day.

I'm loving all your pictures. :goodvibes

Yes last day
I can't believe it has been two months since we started our trip!!

That looks like a great tour at AK. I love that mug. May have to look for it next time.
I got three mugs on this trip. I had two mugs from Epcot at home and I had one from AK too, but that one broke. So I was on a mission to get one from HS, one from AK and one from MK!

I saw that mug in another trip report and can't wait to buy it in June. Adorable!

Thank you! Most of our wait times were 5 minutes! It was a great time to go!

We tried to get a late check out for our last day, but couldn't, so we had to get back at 11:00. We were wearing down a little from this long active trip! I forgot to put a photo in the last update. After the day at Animal Kingdom, we went back to the Poly to rest and then to Epcot for Illuminations. When we got back from seeing Illuminations, I took this photo of the Poly at night with the torches:

IMG_0798_zpse944106f.jpg

It was very pretty there at night.
Back to our last day. We got everything ready to check out but left it in our room. We headed for MK. We had an 8:05 ADR for breakfast at Crystal Palace. We were the first ones at the turnstiles. I was very surprised that they didn't ask for proof of our reservations. They just asked us if we had a reservation for breakfast. That would mean that anyone could just walk in. They asked us at the AK and looked at a list of names to see if we were on the 8:00 ADRs, but not here at MK!
IMG_0799_zpsfd183860.jpg

Last shots of Halloween decorations!! :)

IMG_0800_zpscdefcd05.jpg

We were let in very early. I think it was around 7:40!

IMG_0802_zps41a14267.jpg

Main Street was empty! We were the first ones walking down Main Street! Here's DD walking toward the CMs:

IMG_0806_zps9788bc0d.jpg

View of the castle:

IMG_0807_zpsf283f273.jpg

A photopass photographer asked if he could take our photo in front of the castle with our camera!

IMG_0813_zpsa0156a7f.jpg

I felt like we had the entire park to ourselves! We then went to our ADR at Crystal Palace.

We had breakfast and left Crystal Palace at 8:40. We headed for Adventureland:

IMG_0842_zps0353dc38.jpg

Empty. There was a family sitting there waiting for a Pirate League reservation. Soon a few pirates came over and started joking around:
IMG_0843_zpsc21e4e33.jpg

IMG_0844_zps5f4fea38.jpg

IMG_0846_zps6d2864cc.jpg

Soon we were in.
IMG_0847_zps3173d161.jpg

We headed for Splash Mountain.

IMG_0848_zps99a41826.jpg

It was down, so we went to Big Thunder Mountain. We went on that and headed back to Splash, which was still down. In fact it was down for the whole day according to my wait time App on my phone. I had planned to go to Tomorrowland for one more ride on Space Mountain and then on the CoP, but we didn't. Instead, we decided to go down Main Street to use up some of our snack credits and to head back to the Poly to check out. On the way we stopped to watch some street performers:

IMG_0850_zpsb710a200.jpg

We bought some things in the Main Street Bakery and then left Magic Kingdom. We got on the Avengers monorail:

IMG_0853_zps07051f95.jpg

I wanted to ride this the whole trip and here it is the last day and I rode on it twice! Before we went to the room we made one last stop at Boutiki.
I bought:

IMG_1033_zpsa565991a.jpg

This shopping bag!
We went to our room to sit a while. At 11:00 we went to the lobby to check our laptop and ipad. Then to bell services to check our bags.

While we were here, we decided to change around our ADRs with concierge. We had a Chefs de France at 2:00 and a Flying Fish at 7:30. We were able to change the Chefs to 1:00 and the Flying fish to 6:00.

We headed to Epcot. The CM at the monorail pointed to these:

IMG_0857_zpsf19b4018.jpg

LOVE BUGS!! I had never seen these before. Mating of course! :rotfl:

We wanted to go to Epcot and scope out snack credits that we were going to buy later on. I had my bag that DD gave me with the insulation on the bottom, but I didn't want to buy them yet. We looked into Caramel Kuche and also Boulangerie Patisserie.

We then went over to Le Chefs De France for our ADR. (See DR)

Our original plan did not include going to the outlets, but I had the address and directions, just in case we had time. We had some time to spare before our ADR at Flying Fish. So we left Epcot and headed for the Poly to get the car. We rode on the Avengers monorail again!! We saw this on the monorail back to the Poly:

IMG_0873_zps92e74da6.jpg

We got in the car in the Poly parking lot and drove to the outlets which are not very far from Disneyworld.

We passed DTD and arrived shortly after at the outlets. We looked around there. Mostly we looked. We came across a Disney outlet. We spent some time in there. I think DD bought something in there.
We left the outlets and parked at Boardwalk. I wish I had some photos of Boardwalk. We went upstairs and changed in their ladies room. We had a change of shirts for Flying Fish. We then went in the Boardwalk lobby to sit on the sofa. It was very pretty in there. We saw another bride taking her photos in the lobby. :bride:
After we rested up awhile, we walked downstairs to the Boardwalk Bakery to see what we would get after we finished eating. That is when we decided to get all our snack credits. We walked around a little bit and then headed for Flying Fish. It was a little early, but they let us in.

After we left Flying Fish we walked to Epcot to use up all our leftover snack credits! What a short walk. I would really like to stay at the Yacht and Beach or Boardwalk!

We walked in through the International Gateway and headed to Karamell Kuche in Germany. We bought some candy there and put it in my insulated bag. Not taking any chances after those zebra domes melted! After we left Karamell Kuche, and headed to France to get some pastries, we passed the Kiosk that sold pretzels near the American Adventure and picked up some pretzels. At Boulangerie Pastisserie, we bought some pastries. (See DR for photos.)

We left Epcot through the International Gateway and headed to the Boardwalk Bakery to finish off our frantic using of snack credits. We headed to our car, parked at Boardwalk and drove back to the Poly to get our luggage and laptop and ipad.

It was interesting, when we checked our luggage, one of the small carryons had all the candy and pastries from our fridge in it. They put that one small piece of luggage in a refrigerator. When we put all our luggage in the trunk of the rental car, they were warm, except for that piece it was ice cold. We took all our purchases and put it in that piece of luggage and waved good bye to the Poly. :(

IMG_0856_zpsbe6124da.jpg

I took this photo when we retrieved our laptop and ipad.

It was about 9:30 when we left and headed to my Mom's house on the West Coast to recuperate from our trip:)

This was my best trip to Disneyworld ever. I enjoyed the Poly and Tokelau! My two favorite parks are AK and Epcot. My favorite restaurants Tuskerhouse and Lecellier. Favorite new ride/attractions: Sum of all thrills, Laugh Floor, TSM, and Festival of the Lion King. Favorite Tour: Wild Africa Trek. DD's favorite new ride is Sum of all thrills and favorite attraction is watching the vet at conservation station. She said she will never go on Mission Space orange again :rotfl: Her favorite park is a tie between AK and Epcot.

We both can't wait to get back in January to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge and try more tours, rides and attractions, plus go on the ones that we missed. I'm even thinking of a future trip to Food and Wine Festival!!

Great report looks like you had an awesome time! :cool1:

An empty Main Street and alone in front of the castle is great!:goodvibes

DH loves the Laugh Floor also, did they spot you from the audience?
The F & W is the best. Very disappointed didn't get to go this year, but next year for sure!

First time I saw those "lovebugs" it freaked me out how they cover the cars!

Great TR!! I really enjoyed reading it. Too bad it had to come to an end.

I remember seeing those love bugs for the first time when we went down for our honeymoon. They were everywhere!!!!
