Well, here I am. I've been on South Beach for a month and 6 days now. I have lost 10 lbs plus another 4.5 lbs before beginning SB. I have noticed before that a journal really only discouraged me. But, I am hoping since I have the wonderful, wonderful support of all of you, I can take this journal and learn things from it. I think it may help me to look back and see my goals, and hardships on this long road to becoming healthy.
Just a little background about me, I am 5'1", currently 145 lbs. I had always been an overweight kid, hovering around 160 lbs all through high school. And you know on a short girl like me, any little bit of extra weight shows big time. After high school, I decided to cut down on my fat intake and begin exercising. Four months later, I weighed 124 lbs and I felt wonderful. But, of course, feeling unstoppable, I slowly gained my old eating habits back along with the 36 lbs. Feeling slow and unhealthy over the last year or so, I decided to look into a different kind of diet, not just a diet I suppose, a lifestyle. South Beach has definitely become that for me. I see now that I can't just eat healthy for a while, lose the weight and think it will stay off, I have to do this for good.
I will be posting everyday my food intake, the water I drink, and the amount of exercise I get. Comments are always, always appreciated!

I also just recently joined WISH. I wasn't sure if I would like journaling or if it would help, but I have to say it is one of the smartest decisions I ever made when it comes to trying to stay on program (OP). The support I have received in the past 8 days has been wonderful! I feel like I have made several friends through WISH. It also helps me to stay OP when I don't want to. I feel accountable to my new friends on WISH.
