Killing Time waiting for our trip

We are going in August, DD knows and DS is only 2 so his knowledge is limited to what we tell him. I keep telling him we are going to go see Mickey and he looks at pictures with me on the Dis and recognizes some characters. I have been filling my time making a packing list and starting to buy the little essential items and throwing them in a box (tolietries mostly, ponchos, batteries, t-shirts, tank tops) I try to get one or two things a week that are strictly for this trip and stash them so I don't have to go out the weekend before we leave and shop! I have all the tolietries except for 2 toothbrushes, body glide, moleskin, hair rubberbands for DD and a new bright nailpolish color for myself and DD, everything will just have to be moved from the box it is in to a bag of some sort for travel.

That is a awesome Idea. :thumbsup2 I'm gonna make a box to store stuff in. Like hand sanitizer and stuff like that. 9 months to go but if I buy little stuff now it will seem more of a reality that we are going:cloud9:

I just hate to think how much "stuff" I would have to buy the weekend before we left, buy getting it a little at a time I will feel like I have more money to spend in Disney since I won't have to buy all that along with stuff like drinks and snacks for the road and in the hotel room. I have hand sanitizer and don't forget sunscreen...that stuff is expensive!

Is anyone else keeping the trip a secret from the kids? THIS is killing me, but I know it will be SOOOO worth it in the end! Now that my older dd can read, I have to be very stealth with the computer and notes I leave for myself round the house! ;)

I too, am a "Keeper of the Secret"!! We are staying at the Poly from Sept. 27-Oct. 5. My 2 boys have no idea. They know that I am ready to go whenever possible, but it's daddy that they have to convince! I've decided to just let them know that we are "working on it"- that way we can still talk about it & get excited about the stuff we love to do. But I want to surprise them the night before we leave. It think it will be so much fun. Like your DD, my DS6 is now reading, so I have to hide certain things-- and I can no longer spell out words to people :headache:
So the best way to get thru the next 4 months is to just plan the trip, and of course hang out here on the Dis!! Maybe we can help eachother pass the time (but w/o wishing away the summer!) :thumbsup2
