From what I understand, we will be off the boat around 8:30, and don't need to be to the Orlando airport until 1:00 (for a 3:00 flight). Any thoughts on how to pass the time besides sitting in the terminal? Thanks!

If you don't want to go somwhere and spend money......you could always get a "Day room" at the Hyatt(airport). It is $60 and you can relax, watch TV, go to the pool, etc.

We just did this for a 5:00 flight 2 weeks ago, and it was the best $60 we ever spent.::yes:: We checked into our room at 9:00 am and checked out at 3:45 for our 5:00 flight.

We skipped the day room - our flight left about the same time yours does.

We had a portable DVD player with us. Because of a luggage snafu, we took longer to get to the airport than expected. We had coffee (the kids (4&5) had muffins and juice) from an airport coffee shop (no one ate that much at 6:45). Then one parent would watch the luggage and read a book while the other parent took the kids shopping. Took an hour and a half - my kids browsed through the Disney Store and the Universal Store and the SeaWorld Store (we never take a lot of time for shopping in the parks). Then we went back to Dad and the luggage and had lunch up at Chili's. After lunch we swapped. Dad took the kids down to the other end of the terminal (another Disney Store), while I read and watched luggage.

By then it was 1:00 already and time to head through security. We got to our gate at 1:15, plugged in the DVD player and the kids watched a little TV while we read some more. By 2:00, its time to get two kids through the bathrooms before boarding, and boarding starts at 2:30.

The reason for that long story, time in an airport goes faster than you think it will.

(We considered a short stop at DisneyQuest - but given the kids ages decided to skip it. We had a towncar and would have had to switch to a rental to pull it off).

we also booked a day room at the Hyatt... the best $60 I spent. We were off the Ship at 8:15, thru Customs and on the bus shortly after, and checked in at the Hyatt at 9:30 a.m. We were able to shower there and relax, then went shopping. We took our luggage back down and checked in at 11 a.m, (4 hours before our flight) got our lunch and brought it back to our room. Then at 2pm, walked through security and to the gate.... it was so relaxing and less stressful than sitting in the airport chairs or on the floor. We didn't get to the pool, maybe next time!!!

our flight is also at 3. here's what we are planning on doing. head out to dolphin/swan resort, check out boardwalk, browse, have lunch, ride the watercraft thing?, and head back to the airport around 1. :wave2:

Our flight this time is at 3. Our plans are to rent a car and drive to Downtown Disney. Didn't know about the day room at the Hyatt. That would have been ideal a couple of years ago.

Can you book this online, through the 800 # or do you have to call directly?
