killamanjaro club concierge

Just back from a studio concierge stay. We did not make a request and were placed into 6201, the "leaner" SV as Liferbabe mentioned. We loved its closeness to the lounge.

As for animals, CJ the eland sleeps outside every night. Many times there were few animals, and yet after the browse boxes were filled we saw many antelope, briefly 3 giraffes, and zebra, all checking out the special treats. We also had the occasional ostrich wander through.

We did both Wanyama and Sunrise safaris. We had Megan for the Sunset and Chris for the Sunrise, both animal keepers. On our first stay I had preferred the Sunset; this time I enjoyed the Sunrise more. The female okapi is in the Sunset Savanna barn, awaiting the birth of her calf.

We found the food quickly refilled, and my DH enjoyed the beer offerings while I'm more of a wine person.

I started a thread on the installation of the new lighted make-up mirrors.

We did enjoy our stay, hope to repeat again sometime, but those point saving value rooms call me too!

...!

DSis and I are wine drinkers. Were you disappointed in the wine offerings, or was your DH just happier with what he enjoyed? Also, do you remember times for wine?

Not to mention, that first studio off the lounge, on the Savannah view side is a real "leaner" savannah view.

When we stay CL, I just take what I get as the choices are so limited and there is not much room for disappointment or correction, because it is always booked.

I have learned to not book the 1 bedroom, which would be the biggest disappointment for me and other than that, wherever they put us is fine.

Yes, we had that "leaner" studio in March too. No view of animals at all to speak of, and mostly I could see the road. There were Ankoli cattle sleeping on the road one day, but that was about the extent of what we saw from our balcony.

I had positive and negative expierences with our 10 day stay. We really loved the safari's and they were great. Room was good and clean and staff was ok, some great and some just wandering les helpful. Our 2 biggest issues were the lounge was pretty far from us, we had a pretty long trek. And when we did arrive especially early in morning and later in the evening the food was pretty picked over and it was pretty dirty and groos but that wasnt the staff but more of the guests. But I guess it is the staffs job to keep it clean. So loading 2 kids and walking the long walk the first 4 days and having empty tables of food or half cookies and spoiled fruit wasnt enjoyable and telling someone we encountered more of the wandering less helpful staff. But on our last day and night we foound full tables and at night an extra cake or 2 out and it was fresh and delicious. It was kinda like playing 18 holes of golf and playing horrible and its rainy on you for 17 holes than the sun coming out and birdieing the 18th. Just when you have had enough they come thru and wonder if it would have been this nice the whole trip it would have been well worth the points.

Did you stay in one of the DVC rooms? Or regular AKL concierge? Just wondering because of the DVC rooms are close to the lounge.
