My family will arrive at DW on a Monday. This is EE @ AK. Our plane lands abut 8am. I figure that we can get to AK around 10:00 am.

Im looking forward to going on the kilimanjaro safari ride. My question is (after all of that) is this ride better to "hit" first thing in the am? Is it like the zoo meaning the animals sleep during the day and try to find the shade?

We have done the Safari twice both times at around 10:30. The first time was in June and it was HOT.... As a result we saw mostly sleeping animals. The second time was this past September which was much cooler. This time we saw far more animals and as a "plus" most of the animals were actually moving around.

The other benefit of hitting the Safari first thing is that you stand a good chance at having a minimal wait. The general crowd mentality seems to hold true here with people starting at the beginning of the park and gradually walking to the back. ... steve c

We always hit the safari early. We usually go in the summer and even then, early, the animals are moving about.
