We are flying with Virgin soon and was wondering, what is the kidsmeal like for a toddler ? Is the food edible for a 23 month old, or should we pack her a meal ourselves ?

Thanks

Kev.

hi we have flown with virgin a few times, the kids meals have been potato wedges, beans and chicken airoplanes, our kids didnt like them but dh did!! they have also had fish fingers and beans and chips, they got a drink, cake and a bread roll also, they can be a bit dried up as they look like they have been reheated, we always take something else for them to eat just in case they dont like the meals, i must point out that my kids are not pickey eaters so they must look bad for them to turn there noses up!! hope this helps susie

I agree the kids meals are not that appertising. We are going to take lunchables/snacks next time for my daugther. I think she would have preferred the adult meal to the kids one!

The kids meals we had last trip with Virgin were disgusting - cheap chicken (?) nuggets, soggy chips and baked beans that looked like they had been kept warm for a few weeks!

We haven't bothered booking kids meals this time (at least they will get a choice) and we are taking plenty of snacks just in case the adult meals are inedible :)

DD loved the sausage beans & mash she had in Jan, however was disappointed that the ice creams & afternoon tea were very adult - ice cream covered in a mango sorbet (have you ever tried ti pick sorbet off an ice cream without getting covered?), and coronation chicken sandwiches or cheese with onion chutney. Needless to say this time we're taking snacks for the afternoon.

My 2 boys will eat anything, we call them human hoovers but there was no way they could eat the kids meals.
Why does every childs meal consist of chips and beans?
Anyway, I have learnt now to pack up a box of food for them and I also find it so much easier than struggling in such a confined space to help them get the lids off and what do they do?, superglue the cutlery wrappers!!!????.

Yep, much superglue is used on all airlines food, I think, Linclaire:D :D

Our DD is 10 now and had her last Virgin Kids meal 3 years ago . . . she won't touch them now because she gets more with the adults and I'm afraid it was the soggy pizza, chips and beans that finished them for her:rolleyes: Yuk, I can still smell it all now;)

It's probably worth ordering it for your toddler because of all the little extras they get (sweeties) and they get fed first so that'll make them feel good:)

Would highly recommend taking something snacky for later on though, like everyone else says.

Thanks for all your replies, I thought the meals would be disgusting. We ordered the kids meal prev and we'll still take that for all the extras - thanks Mrs Dazzle :) , and we'll take her snacks also in a lunchbox as well.

Thanks

Kev.
