Kids welcome at Scat Club or River Roost?

I understand that River Roost welcomes kids as the entertainment is kid friendly. How about the Scat Club in the French Quarter?

Do either take reservations and what time should we get there for a show so we can get seats?

Is there a cover charge for either? How horrid and tacky is it to bring in refillable mugs for the kids (adults would def order alcohol!) Are there snacks? Do they have kids drinks like Shirley Temples or Virgin pina colados?

Is there anything about either of these 2 that I should ask or know about? Any pics of the seating or inside?

We enjoyed river roost, we did go with our 5 yr old. She was more interested in her dsi. Lots of families. No cover charge. There is also no reservations. When we were there, it was standing room! However , as the night progressed, the crowd did thin. They do offer a small menu of appetizers if I recall. And we ordered drinks from the bar

We've stayed at POFQ many times, and there are always families at Scat Club. We've never stopped because we're late park goers, but it looks like everyone's having a great time. Not sure about snacks, but I am almost positive they'll do virgin drinks. The music's always wonderful when we walk by!

We just got back (7/30-8/6) and we went to both Scat Cat's and River Roost to see the shows. We got seats both times (showed up around 8:30 for Scat Cat's and 9:00 at River Roost). My daughter (8) enjoyed both shows and did order a virgin pina colada.

Elliot Dyson talked to my DD during the show and played Under the Sea for her. Yeehaw Bob got the kids involved a lot and both shows were family friendly.

I saw a lot of kids with refillable mugs at both places and people bringing in food from the food courts, so don't think it's tacky at all.

Plenty of people grab some food on a tray from the food court and go to the Scat Club/River Roost. Seems to be OK to do.

Not tacky! I never enter a bar/lounge without my mickey pretzels. I usually order other food too if it is available or get something from the CS. I like to eat something while I am drinking. Oh maybe thats why I look like I do

River roost is kind of like a lounge and open to the lobby and halls, very casual. YOU HAVE to see Piano BOB. He is one of Disneys hidden gems IMO. They should advertise it more. Hilarious for all AND kid friendly. It reminds my of the improv dueling piano bars in Clevleand and Chicago.

I usually do not get into stuff like that and just strolled upon it one off park day at my hotel.


In fact piano BoB has a website you can look up and I believe some of his acts are on you tube

we are very interested in seeing Piano Bob on our next trip in April, but what time do these shows usually start? What happens if you are not staying at POR? We may be staying at ASMO and wondering time wise how to plan it. If a great discount comes out then we would love to return to POR...haven't been there since our 97 honeymoon at Dixie Landings Also what is the performer at POFQ called? Thanks for the info
