Kids WDW Survival Kit..

I'm taking my extended family, in May, for thier "1st trip" to see the Mouse !! Ya Hoo!!

Its also the 1st time I am taking kids, 3 princesses, ages 3, 6 and 8.
I thought I would make up, what I call, a "Disney Survival Kit" for each of them.

Not too much stuff, just things they can use on this "Magical Vacation".
I thought of water bottles (or maybe it would be too heavy for them??), fanny packs, maybe some light sticks from the dollar store, kids sun block, D.D's...OK now I'm stumped ...

Any Suggestions from you veterans?????

Lipsmackers with sun block for their chapped lips. Some raisins, pretzels, fruit roll-ups. A wide-brim cotton hat. Sunglasses. Coloring book & Crayons.

you can get small scrapbooks (from Walmart etc.) and Disney stickers and let them make their own autograph books while on the plane.

A fat pen for their autographs makes it easier for some characters to sign.
A disposable camera. If they will be going swimming an underwater camera.
Disney Dollars so they can buy their own stuff.
A small backpack with a disney character on it.
Character shirts from the Disney store.

One of those clip on things of hand sanitizer, the kind with the colorful clip. Also WalMart has game pads, ti-tac-toe, hangman and a few others.

Our children each have a fanny pack that we make sure contains stuff for each day in the park ... snacks, small water bottle, disposable camera, and anything else they can fit in. They fill it with updated snacks each morning. Works great. Our youngest is constantly hungry or thirsty and now there is no more whining from her while in the parks. That keeps mommy and daddy happy!

Small penlight type flashlight. I hook to my DGS belt loos and he uses when he thinks a ride is too dark. Not bright enough to really bother anyone and he keeps it cupped inside his hands.

ANother fun item to include would be the tiny bubbles that can hang like a necklace around their neck. The soap bubbles are easy entertainment while waiting in line. Also - take the time to teach them a word game to play....like the Alphabet game where you say,
"My mother went to the store and she bought an APPLE...."
The next person repeats the phrase, lists the APPLe and says the next item that must begin with the next letter.

It is important to keep them entertained and happy (and not whiny)...easy games like that help a lot. My older brother and his teenage daughter and I would play the "6 degrees of Kevin Bacon" I would list a hollywood personality and he would ponder then tell me the answer of how that person was only 6 people away from Kevin Bacon based on TV or Movie Performances. That was really fun - and he was pretty darn good at it too!
This kept us entertained for hours in line one summer. Some other folks in line even joined us....

I would add a small first aid kit to each kids or just a few bandaids and antiseptic wipes and the small purel! My kids love the Disney Princess fruit snacks and Princess necklace sucker which is available at the candy store on Mainstreet also!

You may also want to include a small card with your hotel info/cell phone numbers in case of emergencies.

Don't forget the sunglasses and sunscreen!

also think about an ID tag for the 3 yr old, somehting with a "if lost please call ..." on it. I used a heart shaped dog tag on the shoe laces. we told DD to show it to a "safe person" if she was lost. ( also taught her who is safe etc but that is another thread) there are several threads here about kids ID tags and they have alot of smart ideas.
