Kids Want Dinner at BOG...Yes or No??

I cannot find the information about the new menu offerings at BOG for dinner. Is it all a fixed price menu now or can you still order a la carte? I have one daughter who will eat just about anything (and a LOT of it!) and the other one is very picky and eats like a bird. I am trying to decide if I should acquiesce to their request of booking a dinner ADR at BOG or if we should try for a lunch instead. They were not impressed with lunch the last time, but our one and only dinner was back in 2013 and I know a lot has changed.

It will switch over to the new menu on July 27th. Until then, it's a la carte. After that, it seems like it's going to work a lot like CRT, where you pay a fixed price but can choose from a menu for your main course and dessert. There's no menu out for after 7/27 yet, so until then it's really anyone's guess.

Ok, thanks. I saw that the price was going to be $55/person which, when you factor in the TIW discount, isn't too bad...as long as the food is stuff we would eat. I guess I can try to make an ADR and then cancel it if the new menu is not something that we would like. Do you need to pre-pay?

I have an August reservation and I didn't have to pre pay. I was going to hold onto it until the menu comes out.

Im not sure if people have reported back yet, but speculation was that you will have to pre-pay if you're not on the DDP which it sounds like you're not. When are you traveling? There have been a couple of articles with discussions of types of menu choices, though as far as i know the actual menu hasn't dropped yet. Search for threads here that discuss BOG and signature menu, see what you can find. The menu seemed to be pretty heavy on seafood and pasta, similar type of cuisine levels as CRT, although more french inspired.

Has there been any indication if they were planning on turning it into a character meal like at CRT? I wouldn’t mind the 2 credits if we got to meet Belle and the Beast, but otherwise, I think I’ll pass.

You do get to meet beast in the library at dinner. But I have not heard about anything new

Our trip is in October so we have time. Our 180-day window is opening up in about 2 weeks so I want to make sure we nail down the hard to get reservations. If we have to cancel, so be it, but I at least want to try and get some of them. We are also looking to book Jiko, HDDR, Boma (Breakfast), Sanaa (lunch) and Splitsville for the DVC member night event. I think we are also going to try a late lunch/early dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe, but I'm not going to stress over that ADR. On our MK day, it will either be in-park at BOG or we will head over to the Wilderness Lodge and try out the new Geyser Point. My picky daughter will eat steaks and burgers of almost any meat (we love venison, bison and elk) so most Disney restaurants are fairly "safe" for her.
