DH and I are thinking about doing the MYW with Dining on our next trip...haven't done this yet. Our DS will be 2 when we go. Can he eat free from the children's menu, or does this use up one of our credits? :confused3

Children under 3 eat free at the buffets and free (from your plate) at sit down restaurants. If you order separate counter service meals for him, you would need to pay for those OOP (I would not recommend using your credits for this purpose as child meals are MUCH less expensive than adult CS meals). Most CS meals you would order for yourself will have plenty to share, so you might not need to order anything for him. Hope that helps!

I just wanted to add one thing that we learned when we went last year. My youngest was 2, and we had went to the 50's Prime Time. The waiter said that he would just throw in a hotdog or a small order of mac and cheese for the baby. So we ordered him a hotdog, and when the bill came we were charged for it. Ironically he didn't recall saying anything that we thought he had said, I paid for it but it would have been nice if he would have kept his word. My baby doesn't eat much so I could have saved that money for something else.

I am going there in March, 4 of us (myself, wife, grandpa, grandma) are on dining plan, but I did not buy for my little child (2-year-old), as tour operator and Disney staff (407-WDW-DINE) both claimed that she can eat free of charge at All-u-can-eat, and buffet restaurants.

I am planning to remind our server at those buffet restaurants, that my kid is 2 and ensure she can eat free. However, I wonder in those family-style restaurants, since all food comes in a platter, will they offer some food from kid's menu while my child is free?

About Al la carte restaurants, I plan to order a child menu for my kid, but pay by cash. I believe I have a non-alocholic drink at each TS meal, can I get an apple juice for my daughter instead?

My 2 yr old ate free at the buffets and LTT character dinner. I bought his lunches out of pocket. THe biggest shocker was at MM - it was 15 for him to have a very small meal. not worth it plus it tasted awful and he didnt eat it.

If you order something, you will pay for it. If you eat at a buffet or family style, the child can eat for free.

What's MM?

A child under 3 is free at the buffets. You can buy kid's meals or let the child eat off of your plate. My 2 year old is closer to 3 and eats like a 4 year old. So I put him on the dining plan since most of our TS are not at buffets.

Last year at O'Hana my then 2yo didn't really like the food there. The waiter was sooooo nice he brought him some nuggets and fries and when my two other DS 8 and 10 saw the fries he brought them some as well- NO CHARGE! Needless to say we left him an additional tip (we were on the DDP). We had a wonderful time there!!!

Just called Disney Dining. The nice CM told me that Children under 3 are free of charge at any buffets, and strongly encourage to eat off adult's plate on Al la carte menu order. However, if you want to order something from kid's menu, of course you have to pay :-)
