From some of the ideas here, and the knowledge that I had spend $30 for two toys last time at Disney, I made a little Travel Kit for each of our Sons.

I got two Pencil Cases from Wal-Mart for $.99 each:

DS4's favorite color is Red, and DS3's is Green:

I then ordered glow sticks, and other assorted glow things from ww.BerniesGlowsticks.com . I spent around $40 including shipping for 100 glow braclets, 25 assorted 6" glow sticks, 10 Glow Rings, 2 LED spinning balls, 2 light up swords, 2 flashing rubber star necklaces, and 2 LED flashing dolphins.

I picked up assorted toys from Wal-Mart......Couple of large Matchbox race cars in boy's favorite colors, ($3 each), a couple of Power Rangers in their favorite colors ($5 each), some Disney themed stickers (Toy Story and Finding Nemo - $1 each).

I got 10 Really nice Disney Trading pins from a very nice person here on the board for $30 shipped and split them between the two.

The first morning they woke up at Disney, I told them the Mickey Mouse stopped by while they were sleeping and dropped them off.

Here is what they got:

There were tons more Glow Sticks, LED Spin Balls, etc that didn't fit into the box that I gave them later and divied out during the week.

So, I spent about $90 total ($30 of that being the Trading pins that will last for many years of pin trading fun), but had TONS of Glow sticks...they loved taking "Glow Stick" baths in the dark every night, had Spinny balls, and toys for them to play with each day.

Other than Autograph books, we purchased nothing in the park the entire week!

What a great idea. I'll have to remember it for the future. We're taking DS to WDW in about 3 weeks, but since he'll only be 10 1/2 months old when we go I don't think he'll care very much about "stuff" yet. DH on the other hand... Let's just say he's a big kid I have to worry about getting too much stuff. Too bad a travel kit won't work for him. :rolleyes2

What a good idea! I'm starting to make some for my girls. I got Cinderella watches for $1.99 each at Big Lots. Glow sticks at Wal-mart $0.92 for 3. Got 2 packs. Disney chapsticks at $ store. Disney stickers free in the mail from Disney Movie Club. Light up Timon toy for scary rides at Big lots $1.49 each. Princess fruit snacks @ Wal-mart $2.49 for ten. Still looking for more goodies! We leave Tuesday night for DL! :cool1:

On our last trip to Disney, we had three kids in our traveling group.

BEFORE I LEFT HOME I went to Hobby Lobby and got three very heavy, ivory colored canvas bags that had 4 clear pockets on the front. In the clear pockets, we made their names on card stock in a Disney font. We also printed out a picture of their favorite disney character and slid into the plastic pocket. A note from Mickey Mouse was attached to each bag that said Welcome to Florida and asked them to keep this large bag hanging on their bedpost and they could keep all of their items in it all week while we were in the hotel. (Thus - helping the clutter stay picked up and helping them to find their things.) We put all sorts of things in the bags from a lanyard and trading pins to Disney fruit snacks and all kinds of Disney toys we had picked up here and there at the Dollar Store etc.

Right after we checked in, my DH took those bags and left them at the front desk. A very nice cast member (later that evening) came by when the kids were getting ready for bed. She said that Mickey thought they were already in bed but he left the bags for the kids at the front desk!

Now, we had NOT told the kids' folks that we were doing this. YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THEIR FACES! It was priceless. It was worth every penny we spent on those bags. Those kids had a great trip!

That sounds SO magical.....definitely something I will have to remember for next time!

We are thinking of doing a Grand Villa (sleeps 12) in 2007 and inviting 2 of my wife's brothers and their kids so we will have 7 kids (their 5 kids and our 2)......your idea sounds PERFECT.....thanks for the additional ideas.

These are great extra ideas for me. THANKS for posting. I have a stash in my laundry room cabinet that I can add to now.

I also have a tiny flash light, tiny rubix cube and tiny etch-a-sketch. My husband and I pick up things like this at different meetings throughout the year. They are nice to tuck away for trips to Walt Disney World (or wherever).

What fun ideas. We have toddlers that would really love some of these things. I love the ideas of the character watches that are cheap so I don't have to worry about them breaking them.

Another good idea is to put your cell phone number on the inside of your child's watches (or on the outside if they are too small to understand). If they get seperated from you, or get lost, tell them to go to the first CM and tell them their "magical watch" can find their parents.

we made the kids a paper insert that we inserted into the lanyard. It had their name, our cell phone, and the resort we were staying at. We never had to use it but we're so glad we did it.
