Kid's Travel Journal?

Teachers have suggested that my kids (7 and 8) keep Journals of their trip to Disney and Texas in Late May/early June. Anyone do something like this before? Suggestions or helpful hints?

I'm a teacher and suggest kids who miss school keep a journal to share with their classmates when they come back. I've found that these often become keepsakes as the children grow- a good reminder of a fun vacation. Just have them write the highlights of the day for them- favorite- ride or activity or favorite meal or parade. Have them add a few details to keep it interesting. This will help them remember and also help with writing and reading skills.

Yes.We made our own. My kindergartner used park maps, photos and other things from our trip to decorate it and do it.The teacher loved it

My dds teacher made her a vacation journal with about 15 pages in it. When we went in Dec we left it in GA on the way down and had to pick it up on the way back and because she didn't bring it back on her first day back (we got home on Sunday and she returned to school on Monday) she didn't get to share it. The teacher also made one for her springbreak trip. I just had her write what she did in it everyday so she would have it ready on Monday and that one she got to share. DD's teacher was just looking for more creative writing without parental assistance. BTW she is 5 and in kindergarten so this could change with the grade levels.

This is exactly the same journal that I print out, bind, & send off with each of my 1st grade students when they take a trip to WDW.

I've done it 3 times already this year. They always bring it back & are VERY eager to share it with the class!!

It has stickers for each ride so you can mark which ones you have done and it lets you say if you liked/disliked them and also it has an autograph section. Kind of pricey, but worth it, especially for a first trip!
